Head of Engineering, Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical strategy and architecture for software related to inventory, logistics, and repair management.

• Oversee an engineering team comprising approximately 25 professionals, including managers, QA, SRE, and Data Engineering.

• Propel the platformization of inventory and supply chain systems utilized across millions of terminals.

• Create solutions that are operationally disciplined, integrating operational practices with software systems.

• Establish architecture standards, engineering processes, and quality metrics across various squads.

• Collaborate with business and operational stakeholders to convert requirements into effective engineering solutions.

• Recruit, mentor, and nurture engineering managers and senior engineers.

• Provide scalable inventory and logistics systems that support millions of devices across several countries.

• Create visibility and trust in operational data across global markets.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10–15 years of comprehensive software engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles during periods of growth.

• Over 5 years of practical, production-level experience in writing and delivering Java applications.

• At least 5 years of experience in managing other managers.

• Extensive hands-on experience in scalable supply chain, inventory, warehouse, or logistics software.

• Experience in fintech or regulated industries.

• Strong backend engineering capabilities for data-intensive, distributed operational systems.

• Demonstrated ability in designing large-scale systems for managing hundreds of thousands of devices or more.

• Experience in managing and developing engineering teams consisting of 20 or more members.

• Excellent skills in stakeholder management.

• A product-focused approach to solving operational challenges.
