Head of Engineering, Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical strategy and architecture for inventory and logistics systems as well as repair management software.

• Manage an engineering team of approximately 25 professionals, including managers, QA, SRE, and Data Engineering experts.

• Propel the platformization of inventory and supply chain systems to ensure that operational data is visible, reliable, and consistent across millions of terminals.

• Connect operational practices with software systems by creating solutions that are operationally disciplined.

• Establish architectural standards, engineering processes, and quality metrics across various squads.

• Partner with business and operational stakeholders to convert operational needs into engineering solutions.

• Recruit, mentor, and nurture engineering managers and senior engineers to facilitate team growth to over 30 members.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10–15 years of comprehensive software engineering experience, including a minimum of 5 years leading engineering teams through periods of growth.

• At least 5 years of practical, production-level experience in writing and deploying Java code as an active engineer.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing other managers.

• Extensive hands-on experience in supply chain, inventory, warehouse, or logistics software at scale.

• Experience in fintech or regulated industries.

• Strong backend engineering abilities for data-intensive, distributed operational systems.

• Demonstrated system design capabilities at a large scale, managing hundreds of thousands of devices or more.

• Experience in overseeing and developing large engineering teams of 20 or more members.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, adept at translating complex technical concepts for non-technical leaders.

• A product-focused mindset for addressing operational challenges with engineering solutions.
