Head of Engineering, Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical strategy and architecture for tools related to inventory, logistics, and repair management software.

• Oversee an engineering team of around 25 professionals, including managers, QA, SRE, and Data Engineering specialists.

• Propel the platformization of inventory and supply chain systems across millions of terminals.

• Create solutions that are operationally disciplined, connecting operational practices with software systems.

• Establish architecture standards, engineering processes, and quality metrics throughout various squads.

• Partner with business and operational stakeholders to convert requirements into effective engineering solutions.

• Recruit, mentor, and nurture engineering managers and senior engineers to facilitate growth to a team of over 30 members.

• Implement scalable inventory and logistics systems across multiple nations.

• Foster operational data visibility and trust across international markets.

• Ensure reliability and data integrity through the establishment of robust architecture standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10 to 15 years of comprehensive software engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles overseeing engineering teams during periods of growth.

• Over 5 years of hands-on, production-level experience in writing and deploying Java code.

• At least 5 years of experience in managing other managers.

• Extensive hands-on experience in software related to supply chain, inventory, warehouse, or logistics at scale.

• Experience in fintech or within a regulated industry.

• Strong backend engineering capabilities for data-intensive, distributed operational systems.

• Demonstrated ability in system design at a large scale, managing hundreds of thousands of devices or more.

• Experience in managing and developing large engineering teams consisting of 20 or more members.

• Exceptional stakeholder management skills.

• A product-focused approach to solving operational challenges.
