This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Take ownership of the technical strategy, architecture, and comprehensive roadmap for the Rewards Platform.
• Enhance the performance, reliability, and functionality of the existing cashback product.
• Transform cashback into a platform focused on rewards, retention, engagement, and personalization.
• Develop the engineering organization from its current state, which includes structuring product units and recruiting engineers and Engineering Managers.
• Foster a culture of experimentation utilizing A/B testing, cohort analysis, and performance measurement.
• Collaborate with Growth, Sales, and Marketing teams to turn acquisition and retention goals into engineering projects.
• Manage the customer-facing rewards experience across both mobile and web platforms.
• Set standards for architecture, engineering processes, and quality metrics.
• Oversee engineering health metrics such as incidents, production defects, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and developer experience.
• Develop the platform to cater to customers in various geographical locations.
• Collaborate with Product teams to establish rewards metrics and OKRs.
• Functionally report to the Group CTO while maintaining a dual delivery relationship with the Product leader for Rewards.
• Experience in direct-to-consumer product engineering at a substantial scale.
• Deep knowledge of front-end and mobile engineering.
• Practical experience with A/B testing, feature flagging, and measurement frameworks.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing managers.
• Over 10 years of overall software engineering experience.
• At least 5 years of experience leading engineering teams through periods of growth.
• Hands-on technical leadership with a significant ongoing contribution to engineering.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot backend environments.
• Experience in building and scaling an engineering organization from a small foundation.
• Proven experience in hiring and developing Engineering Managers.
• Strong collaborative skills with growth, marketing, and sales stakeholders.
• Experience in rewards, loyalty, gamification, personalization, or growth platforms is a plus but not mandatory.
• Fintech or payments experience is beneficial but not required.
• Complete autonomy as the CTO of the Rewards domain.
