This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee Seminal's consumer products licensing operations throughout North America.
• Generate new licensing revenues across various consumer product categories.
• Cultivate relationships with top licensees and retailers.
• Broaden the reach of Seminal's collection of artists and artworks in North America, Canada, and Latin America.
• Drive new business opportunities through manufacturers and direct-to-retail partnerships.
• Collaborate with the Global Head of Licensing & Partnerships and the Founder & CEO to identify global and regional licensing prospects.
• Advocate for Seminal's platform and pinpoint new domestic and international sales avenues.
• Formulate and enhance strategies to grow and diversify the artwork licensing business.
• Lead, manage, and inspire partnerships with licensing agencies.
• Discover new agent and referral opportunities.
• Recruit and establish a licensing team as the business expands.
• Represent Seminal in the region, enhancing the company's profile, licensing platform, and the value of art within licensing.
• Conduct comprehensive technology, market, and business research, providing well-considered recommendations.
• Create marketing materials, sales tools, and presentations in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Attend trade events, conferences, and client meetings both domestically and internationally within designated budgets.
• Provide reports, presentations, and communications to keep management updated on licensing activities, opportunities, and developments.
• Report to the Global Head of Licensing & Partnerships and work alongside the Founder & CEO, regional sales and creative teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Over 10 years of experience in IP licensing with a proven track record of executing third-party and direct licensing agreements.
• Demonstrated success in establishing and leading licensing partnership initiatives.
• Established connections with industry professionals and key decision-makers within the U.S. licensing landscape.
• Willingness to travel for trade shows, conferences, partner meetings, and other business activities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to work effectively with senior leaders and geographically dispersed teams across various time zones.
• Availability for full-time work and readiness to start immediately or as soon as possible.
• Legally authorized to live and work in the United States.
• In-depth understanding of the licensing landscape, market trends, and key industry participants.
• Strong business development skills in third-party licensing and direct-to-retail opportunities.
• Proficient in negotiation, deal interpretation, commercial analysis, and revenue/profit modeling.
• Ability to devise licensing strategies and translate them into actionable commercial execution.
• Strong relationship-building capabilities with licensees, retailers, agencies, and senior decision-makers.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivated, and comfortable with minimal day-to-day guidance.
• Hands-on leadership approach with a willingness to take the lead in sales and partnership development.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively across diverse cultures, languages, backgrounds, and global time zones.
• Experience in various consumer product categories such as fashion, CPG, homewares, toys, collectibles, beauty, gaming, entertainment, and publishing.
• Experience managing licensing agencies or agent networks.
• Experience in building or scaling a regional licensing team.
• Experience in a technology-enabled licensing, creative, media, or consumer products business.
• International licensing experience across North America, Canada, Latin America, or wider global markets.
