This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Design, execute, and supervise the governance framework of the Bank’s Compliance Management System during the establishment of a de novo Industrial Loan Company.
• Create governance structures, operational models, and essential compliance processes from the inception of the charter to ongoing operations.
• Lead and cultivate a compliance organization across various compliance domains or business sectors.
• Develop the strategy for the compliance program and comprehensive regulatory frameworks.
• Promote the continuous enhancement of compliance processes, methodologies, and control frameworks.
• Forge strategic partnerships with leaders in business, legal, risk, audit, and technology.
• Address complex compliance issues and formulate strategies for emerging regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate on the design of the compliance program, resource distribution, and organizational priorities.
• Shape compliance strategy through thought leadership, regulatory insights, and risk-based recommendations.
• Enhance organizational compliance capabilities through talent development, knowledge sharing, and standards of compliance excellence.
• Report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant compliance experience along with a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated experience in managing compliance teams and delivering complex program initiatives through others.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. banking laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations related to Compliance Management Systems, including FFIEC guidance and consumer compliance regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in establishing or overseeing core compliance governance functions, such as policy and procedure governance, compliance risk assessment, regulatory change management, regulatory examination management, compliance issue management, customer complaint oversight, compliance training and awareness, and Board and executive compliance reporting.
• Proven track record in developing executive- and Board-level reporting, governance materials, and compliance metrics.
• Experience working within a Three Lines of Defense governance model and providing independent oversight, effective challenge, and credible challenge.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in recruiting, developing, coaching, and guiding high-performing teams.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, and drive execution in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Experience supporting a de novo bank charter, bank integration, substantial regulatory transformation, or large-scale compliance program development.
• Background in a fintech, payments, or digital banking environment.
• Familiarity with Industrial Loan Company (ILC) regulatory requirements and governance expectations.
• Possession of professional certifications such as CRCM, CAMS, CCEP, or other relevant compliance or risk management credentials.
• Experience in implementing or overseeing GRC platforms and compliance technology solutions.
• Experience leading regulatory examinations and managing interactions with federal and/or state banking regulators.
• Ability to leverage enterprise governance, compliance, or risk management capabilities while establishing legal-entity-specific oversight and governance.
