This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +7 more countries.
• Provide guidance and support for the development of campaigns through narratives and communication strategies.
• Collaborate with campaigners and the social media manager to oversee or create complementary content, including reactive posts, videos, and campaign materials.
• Coordinate with media contacts and external agencies to enhance campaign visibility across European and national media platforms.
• Establish partnerships with influencers, creators, and independent activists.
• Enhance campaigners’ storytelling abilities and identify engaging storytelling opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with journalists.
• Create press releases and briefings.
• Keep an up-to-date and accurate media database for priority countries.
• Manage and refresh the organization's social media presence.
• Supervise and mentor a social media manager.
• Track the news cycle and social media performance to spot opportunities.
• Define measures for communication success, including social media KPIs, and oversee activities to achieve them.
• Provide counsel to senior leadership on communications and reputational matters, including crisis communications.
• Ensure consistency in messaging and tone across all public communications.
• Undertake additional duties outside the standard role as required.
• Proficiency in English.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• Capability to translate complex policy or campaign issues into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
• Skilled in writing inspiring, clear, and impactful content in English.
• Experience in media relations, influencer partnerships, or content creation.
• Proven ability to engage new audiences through various communication channels.
• Competence in utilizing audience insights to shape communication strategies.
• Data-driven and results-focused approach.
• Ability to test, learn, and continuously enhance content and communication strategies.
• Experience in designing and delivering effective training programs.
• Commitment to fostering systemic change in Europe, aligned with values of solidarity, sustainability, justice, and democracy.
• Willingness to travel within Europe as needed, at least three times a year.
• Applications must be submitted in English.
• Must reside in a country where WeMove Europe operates.
• Familiarity with a digital-first campaign model is advantageous.
• Recent experience in video storytelling is a plus.
• Line management experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Knowledge of the Brussels press landscape and national media is a plus.
• Proficiency in other European languages is an added advantage.
• Full-time (5 days a week) or optional part-time (4 days a week, with a pro-rata salary adjustment).
