This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium, +7 more countries.
• Provide guidance and assistance in developing campaigns through narratives and communication strategies.
• Collaborate with campaigners and the social media manager to oversee or create complementary content, such as reactive posts, videos, and campaign materials.
• Connect with media contacts and external agencies to enhance campaign visibility across European and national platforms.
• Establish partnerships with influencers, creators, and independent activists.
• Enhance campaigners' storytelling abilities and identify engaging storytelling prospects.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists.
• Draft press releases and prepare briefings.
• Keep an accurate and up-to-date media database across key countries.
• Manage and refresh social media presence.
• Supervise and mentor a social media manager.
• Track the news cycle and social media performance to pinpoint campaign opportunities.
• Define success metrics for communications, including social media KPIs, and oversee activities to achieve them.
• Counsel senior leadership on communications and reputational issues, including crisis management.
• Ensure consistency in messaging and tone across all public communications.
• Occasionally perform tasks beyond the standard role as part of a collaborative team culture.
• Proficient in English.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• Capable of translating complex policy or campaign matters into engaging narratives for diverse audiences.
• Ability to uncover creative news angles from unusual or difficult subject matter.
• Skilled in crafting inspiring, clear, and impactful written content in English.
• Experience in media relations, influencer collaborations, or content creation.
• Proven track record of engaging new audiences through various communication channels.
• Ability to leverage audience insights to shape communication strategies.
• Data-driven and focused on achieving results.
• Willingness to experiment, learn, and continuously refine content and communication strategies.
• Capable of designing and delivering practical training sessions.
• Committed to systemic change in Europe and aligned with principles of solidarity, sustainability, justice, and democracy.
• Willingness to travel within Europe as needed, at least three times a year.
• Applications must be submitted in English.
• Applicants should be located in countries where WeMove Europe operates.
• Nice to have: familiarity with digital-first campaigns, recent video storytelling experience, line management experience, knowledge of the Brussels press landscape and national media, and proficiency in additional European languages.
• Full-time (5 days a week) or optional part-time (4 days a week, with a pro-rata salary adjustment).
