This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership and nurture a focused pipeline of prospective acquisition partners in key markets.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of M&A to convert relationships into viable opportunities.
• Establish direct connections with owners and founders of commercial landscaping businesses through introductions, industry interactions, market visits, meetings, site tours, and ongoing outreach.
• Build and sustain a referral network comprising industry professionals, former owners, property managers, brokers, suppliers, and other market influencers.
• Identify and assess potential acquisition partners based on strategic alignment, owner motivation, and timing considerations.
• Facilitate qualified meetings and introductions for the Head of M&A.
• Stay engaged during the initial stages of the process to ensure continuity and maintain trusted relationships with owners.
• Acquire knowledge about priority markets, key players, competitive landscapes, and prospective acquisition targets.
• Ensure CRM activities are updated and document conversations, introductions, follow-up actions, and next steps.
• Represent the organization at pertinent industry events.
• Collaborate with operating leaders to gather market insights and enhance relationships with potential partners.
• Success will be evaluated based on relationship pipeline coverage, qualified owner discussions and meetings, warm introductions, opportunity advancement, and deals sourced and finalized.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and develop business.
• Experience in commercial landscaping or grounds maintenance, ideally in a senior sales or business development role with a well-established industry network.
• Alternatively, experience in business development or acquisition sourcing within a private equity-backed services platform or multi-location service organization.
• Alternatively, a former landscaping business owner or senior operator who has successfully built, scaled, or exited a business.
• Established connections within commercial landscaping, grounds maintenance, or closely related services.
• Proven ability to proactively cultivate new relationships and opportunities.
• Strong credibility with founders and business owners.
• Excellent judgment with the ability to grasp an owner's goals, motivations, and timing.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building capabilities.
• Capacity to manage a substantial pipeline of long-term relationships across various markets.
• Proficient in using HubSpot or another CRM for managing activities and pipeline.
• Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and resilient mindset.
• Willingness to travel frequently to foster relationships in priority markets.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
