Head of Artificial Intelligence, AI Practice

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Direct AI initiatives and engage with the AI Community.

• Oversee and execute research and development projects.

• Establish and uphold organizational standards for AI tools.

• Address and communicate AI security issues.

• Monitor AI advancements at the company level.

• Create and sustain a comprehensive AI knowledge base.

• Manage and supervise the delivery of AI projects for clients.

• Conduct audits on projects and resolve related issues.

• Provide mentorship to teams.

• Spearhead the development of internal AI solutions.

• Articulate and share the architectural vision.

• Offer executive guidance for proposals and technical solutions.

• Lead client discovery sessions and define solution scopes.

• Assist in business development through leadership in practices.

• Conduct technical stakeholder interviews.

• Supervise solution design and convey strategy to clients.

• Create AI grading systems and assessment criteria.

• Engage in staffing and participate in interviews for AI candidates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 8 years of progressive professional experience in software engineering.

• 5 years of experience with system architecture and software design tools, including C4 Model, UML, PlantUML, and Draw.io.

• 5 years of experience with major cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, for AI solution architecture and implementation.

• 5 years of experience in technical team leadership and project delivery oversight, utilizing CI/CD and containerization tools such as GitHub Actions, Docker, Jenkins, and TeamCity.

• 3 years of experience in technical consulting and pre-sales support using Jira and Confluence.

• Familiarity with industry-standard artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, including generative AI methods.

• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools, such as Whisper.

• Proficiency in Python programming for AI/machine learning development.

• Background check and drug screen required.

• Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field along with 3 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Alternatively, 2 years of experience with system architecture and software design tools, including C4 Model, UML, PlantUML, and Draw.io.

• Alternatively, 2 years of experience with major cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, for AI solution architecture and deployment.

• Alternatively, 2 years of experience in technical team leadership and project delivery oversight using CI/CD and containerization tools such as GitHub Actions, Docker, Jenkins, and TeamCity.

• Alternatively, 1 year of experience in technical consulting and pre-sales support using Jira and Confluence.

• A suitable combination of education, training, or experience will also be accepted.
