This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop images and sequences that align with visual direction, pitches, previs, intellectual property development, and final broadcast shots.
• Construct and sustain ComfyUI workflows, integrating multiple models for specific shots.
• Train LoRAs on both image and video models while preparing well-balanced datasets.
• Assess and review new models based on their quality, control, turnaround time, and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide high-quality visuals that meet the standards of the studio.
• Create visual directions, lookframes, key visuals, animatics, and final shots for advertising initiatives and IP development.
• Ensure character, product, and visual world consistency across all shots.
• Document workflows, save model versions, and produce reproducible results.
• Deliver outputs suitable for compositing, 3D, and finishing teams, maintaining appropriate color space, resolution, frame rate, and passes.
• Leverage live-action plates, on-set capture, and mocap data to inform generation processes.
• Investigate generative 3D methods, such as Gaussian Splatting and image-to-3D techniques.
• Monitor credit usage and compute reports as necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with art directors, supervisors, producers, and artists across various departments.
• Articulate AI capabilities, limitations, and associated costs to producers and clients.
• Adhere to copyright, likeness consent requirements, and commercial licensing agreements.
• Safeguard confidential client information by utilizing only studio-approved platforms.
• Maintain an updated knowledge of image, video, 3D, and audio models.
• Document methodologies and contribute to the internal library of workflows, LoRAs, style references, and testing outcomes.
• Mentor artists from different departments and foster Rodeo FX's collaborative AI culture.
• A portfolio showcasing strong taste and visual judgment, encompassing composition, lighting, style, and storytelling.
• An artistic background in illustration, photography, concept art, compositing, motion design, cinematography, or a related field.
• High proficiency in ComfyUI with the ability to create custom workflows and graphs.
• Experience in training LoRAs and preparing datasets effectively.
• Proficient in at least two video generation models and several image generation models, with a solid understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.
• Knowledge of VFX workflows and the constraints of advertising production, including tight deadlines, feedback cycles, version management, and budget considerations.
• Proficiency in Photoshop is mandatory.
• Foundational skills in compositing are highly preferred.
• Fluency in both spoken and written French and English is required.
• Familiarity with Python, Nuke, Houdini, Blender, or Unreal Engine is advantageous.
• Experience in developing custom ComfyUI nodes or participating in open-source projects is considered an asset.
• Background in delivering advertising or post-production work is a plus.
• Knowledge of on-set capture techniques that support generative workflows is beneficial.
