This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate Accela’s overarching AI strategy and investment objectives.
• Evaluate AI capabilities and preparedness, ensuring alignment with business objectives, resources, and acceptable risk levels.
• Discover and rank AI opportunities based on their advantages, readiness, data requirements, effort, risk, and costs.
• Set success metrics and advise on initiatives to fund, scale, modify, or discontinue.
• Create categories for AI risks, along with review processes and approval standards.
• Convert legal, regulatory, contractual, and policy obligations into requirements concerning security, privacy, data usage, human oversight, and AI assessment.
• Clarify roles and transitions from experimentation to deployment and eventual retirement.
• Ensure company-wide transparency regarding AI initiatives, tools, stakeholders, investments, dependencies, and risks.
• Offer role-specific training, resources, templates, office hours, and opportunities for peer learning; develop an AI champion network.
• Collaborate with functional leaders to identify skill gaps and establish AI objectives.
• Direct the selection of approved technologies and assess whether to build, purchase, or configure solutions.
• Set technical standards for access controls, activity logs, monitoring, incident response, and ongoing management of AI systems.
• Leverage AI-assisted development and targeted prototypes to validate assumptions.
• Create executive scorecards that encompass adoption, outcomes, quality, reliability, risk, cost, and value.
• Facilitate cross-functional and executive collaboration, providing clear recommendations, decisions, and follow-up actions.
• Collaborate with the Senior Director of AI Transformation & Operations to synchronize enterprise requirements with operational necessities.
• Over 6 years of experience in AI, AI strategy, or technology strategy, including leading complex initiatives with multiple teams.
• Proven experience in establishing enterprise AI or technology governance, standards, operational practices, or adoption programs.
• Hands-on experience with large language models, retrieval systems, agents, workflow automation, AI evaluation, and AI-assisted development, sufficient to prototype and evaluate solutions.
• Capacity to prioritize opportunities, transform ambiguous business challenges into actionable requirements, and produce measurable operational or financial outcomes.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation abilities, including the skill to articulate technical subjects clearly, foster consensus, and lead without direct authority.
• Relevant certifications, such as IAPP AIGP, ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer, ISACA AAISM, CRISC, or CGEIT, or equivalent hands-on experience in implementing enterprise AI governance.
• Preferred: Experience in enterprise SaaS, GovTech, or other regulated sectors.
• Preferred: Experience collaborating with security, risk, or compliance teams.
• Preferred: Experience in developing AI champion networks, employee training programs, or shared internal AI capabilities.
