This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Drive new business opportunities and foster long-term customer success within the California/Nevada region.
• Provide support to PreK–12 schools and districts through student-oriented software, professional development for educators, and implementation services.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with high-level decision-makers in the education market.
• Design, manage, and execute territory plans to meet quotas for both new and existing accounts.
• Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within current accounts.
• Collaborate with Customer Success to enhance product adoption, measure impact, and manage renewals.
• Conduct in-person and virtual presentations that articulate Lexia’s pedagogical approach, research foundation, and measurable outcomes.
• Forge relationships with superintendents, curriculum directors, technology leaders, and procurement officers.
• Develop proposals and strategic communications that align with district goals, funding sources, and instructional requirements.
• Work collaboratively across functions to create data-informed strategies that address district challenges and enhance student outcomes.
• Maintain Salesforce records, oversee pipeline health, and provide forecasts and insights into the market.
• Analyze trends within the territory, funding changes, and the competitive landscape.
• Represent Lexia at conferences, webinars, and networking events.
• Travel up to 50% within the territory while utilizing virtual tools to support engagement and productivity.
• Candidates must reside and work in California or Nevada, United States.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• At least 5 years of successful experience in business development, sales, and account management is necessary.
• Experience in selling or working with technology-based curriculum products; a background in Literacy/Reading products is highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of the K–12 education sector, including funding cycles, decision-making hierarchies, and instructional priorities is strongly preferred.
• Proven knowledge of the geographical territory and existing contacts within K–12 education.
• Demonstrated ability to identify client needs, propose customized solutions, and close complex deals to achieve new revenue targets.
• A successful track record of achieving sales goals, closing business, and managing a pipeline in large, complex districts is essential.
• Proficient in Salesforce, MS Office, Google Suites, video conferencing software, and technology-oriented productivity tools.
• Capability to deliver product presentations to groups and decision-makers both in person and through video conferencing.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
• A reliable cable or fiber-optic broadband internet connection with minimum speeds of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required for remote work.
• Ability to actively engage in video-based interviews and ongoing virtual meetings with the camera on.
