This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Drive new business initiatives and ensure long-term customer satisfaction within the California/Nevada region.
• Assist PreK–12 educational institutions and districts with student-oriented software, professional development, and implementation services.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with high-level decision-makers in the education sector.
• Formulate, oversee, and implement territory plans to meet quotas and strategic objectives across both new and existing accounts.
• Recognize upsell and cross-sell opportunities within current client accounts.
• Collaborate with Customer Success teams to enhance product adoption, measure impacts, and manage renewals.
• Conduct both in-person and virtual presentations that detail Lexia’s educational approach, research foundation, and measurable results.
• Foster relationships with superintendents, curriculum directors, technology leaders, and procurement officers.
• Develop customized proposals and strategic communications aligned with district goals, funding sources, and instructional requirements.
• Work with internal teams and sales leaders to implement data-driven strategies and promote continuous improvement.
• Maintain Salesforce records, oversee pipeline health, and deliver forecasts and market insights.
• Examine territory trends, funding changes, and the competitive landscape.
• Represent Lexia at regional conferences, webinars, and networking events.
• Travel up to 50% within the territory while utilizing virtual tools to enhance engagement and productivity.
• Candidates must reside and work within California or Nevada, US.
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Over 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, and account management.
• Experience in selling or working with technology-based curriculum products; familiarity with literacy/reading products is highly preferred.
• In-depth understanding of the K–12 education landscape, including funding cycles, decision-making hierarchies, and instructional priorities is strongly preferred.
• Proven knowledge of the geographical territory and existing relationships in K–12 education.
• Demonstrated capability to identify client needs, propose customized solutions, and close complex deals to achieve new revenue goals.
• A successful track record of meeting sales targets, closing business deals, and managing pipelines in large, complex districts.
• Proficient in CRM (Salesforce), MS Office, Google Suite, video conferencing tools, and other productivity technologies.
• Ability to present products to groups and decision-makers both in person and through video conferencing.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight stays.
• A reliable cable or fiber-optic broadband connection with minimum speeds of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required for remote work.
• Capability to actively engage in video-based interviews and ongoing virtual meetings with the camera on.
• A remote-first work environment that offers flexibility and trust for balancing work and personal life.
• Reimbursement for home or remote office setup costs.
• Requirement for a reliable internet connection for remote work (minimum 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload).
