This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Drive the acquisition of new high-value group business throughout the Southeast.
• Develop and implement outbound prospecting strategies aimed at corporate, nonprofit, association, and incentive group buyers.
• Identify key decision-makers and establish contact through cold outreach, referrals, networking, and digital platforms.
• Maintain a well-documented CRM pipeline of promising new business opportunities.
• Create tailored proposals that integrate multi-day lodging, outdoor adventure programming, dining, and organized group experiences.
• Oversee the sales process from the initial outreach to contract finalization.
• Collaborate with the Group Sales Manager on intricate or high-stakes negotiations.
• Achieve or surpass monthly and quarterly targets for new revenue and account acquisition.
• Discover new vertical opportunities and unexplored market segments.
• Participate in and actively engage at trade shows, networking events, expos, and industry gatherings.
• Foster relationships with event planners, incentive travel agencies, nonprofit operations personnel, association meeting planners, and other group influencers.
• Establish a referral network that generates new group opportunities.
• Keep track of competitor offerings, pricing, and positioning.
• Manage post-sale transitions to Custom Group Sales Representatives, Reservations, and Operations teams.
• Work alongside Marketing on prospecting campaigns, sales materials, and outreach tools.
• Provide market insights, objections, competitor analysis, and segment trends.
• Travel to NOC’s Bryson City campus and other NOC locations for site visits, client hosting, and team collaboration.
• Minimum of 3 years of outbound sales experience, preferably in group hospitality, corporate event sales, incentive travel, association sales, or a similar B2B setting.
• Proven success in generating new business through proactive prospecting instead of relying on inbound leads.
• Experience in building and managing a sales pipeline and closing mid-value deals involving multiple stakeholders.
• Established relationships within corporate event planning, incentive travel, nonprofit, or association markets are a significant advantage.
• Comfortable with consultative selling and creating customized solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities; adept at engaging with senior-level contacts.
• Self-motivated and organized; capable of managing a full prospecting schedule with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital prospecting and outreach tools.
• Passionate about the outdoors and genuinely believe in outdoor adventure as a means for group connection and organizational growth.
• Comfortable with remote work and managing a self-directed daily agenda.
• Able to sit for extended periods and conduct outreach via phone, video, and email.
• Willing and able to travel for client meetings, site visits, and trade shows, including overnight and occasional weekend travel.
• Comfortable working in both office and outdoor settings.
• Standard Monday to Friday schedule with some evening or weekend availability expected based on client and event requirements.
• Commission and performance bonuses linked to new revenue generated.
