This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.
• Enhance Center Store sales by implementing effective shelf management and utilizing selling tools in AWG member stores.
• Promote new items, conversions, and proper shelf placement to members within the AWG Center Store portfolio.
• Carry out category shelf work according to planograms.
• Assist with tagging and resets for new stores.
• Implement monthly focus objectives, such as introducing new items, conversions, addressing distribution voids, and identifying promotional opportunities, pallets, and shippers.
• Collaborate with brokers and vendors on store resets, new store openings, remodels, equipment, and shelving projects.
• Recommend category layouts and shelf allocations, focusing on AWG Brands and HGS.
• Offer insights and recommendations for placement within planograms.
• Recommend products, product lines, and promotional activities; analyze slow-moving items to boost orders.
• Oversee sales figures within the designated territory.
• Assist members in training on AWG Center Store retail programs.
• Provide merchandising ideas and support for end caps, supplemental ads, digital coupons, and demo programs.
• Complete necessary territory reporting for the Center Store Sales Manager.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the grocery industry.
• Background in Marketing/Sales.
• Strong customer service abilities.
• Proficient merchandising skills.
• Capable of using tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, power drills, saws, and similar equipment.
• Valid driver’s license; daily travel and overnight stays are necessary.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. or more and perform tasks that require bending, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
• Deep understanding of the retail grocery sector.
• Sales experience with key accounts.
• Experience in managing personnel.
• Excellent communication skills with all levels of retail management.
• Strong attention to detail and time management capabilities.
• Ability to make data-driven item-placement decisions using supported sales data.
• Self-driven and capable of achieving set goals with minimal supervision.
• Effective relationship-building skills with AWG divisional leadership and key equity groups.
• Highly adaptable, able to juggle various tasks while meeting multiple deadlines.
• Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Willing to travel 60–80%, including some overnight travel.
• Available on short notice when required.
