This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
β’ Oversee, reconcile, and assess expenditures related to sponsored awards to guarantee adherence to award terms and conditions.
β’ Generate invoices, including letter of credit draws, and prepare financial reports for sponsors.
β’ Assist in compiling supporting documentation for financial audits.
β’ Manage sponsored awards from acceptance through the completion of the research project.
β’ Identify payments related to sponsored projects and monitor any unapplied cash.
β’ Follow up on outstanding receivables.
β’ Provide support during audits.
β’ Conduct independent reviews of sponsored award terms and conditions.
β’ Identify reporting, invoicing, and other specific financial obligations while tracking tasks through the financial system.
β’ Examine sponsor payments, allocate cash to the appropriate awards, and investigate discrepancies.
β’ Resolve issues by researching relevant information and analyzing data.
β’ Escalate non-compliance matters to the Senior Post Award Accountant or Post Award Management.
β’ Interpret and address post-award financial management challenges using sponsor terms and professional standards.
β’ Conduct final expenditure and cash reconciliations to facilitate the submission of final invoices or reports and to close awards in the financial system.
β’ A Bachelor's degree is required.
β’ A minimum of three years of relevant experience is mandatory.
β’ A combination of education and additional relevant work experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
β’ Previous experience in Grants and Contracts, particularly in Post-Award within a Higher Education setting, is preferred.
β’ Certification as a Certified Research Administrator (CRA) is advantageous.
β’ Must be eligible to work without employer sponsorship.
β’ Successful completion of a background check is required prior to employment.
β’ A resume and cover letter must be submitted.
β’ Five references are requested via SkillSurvey; at least three references are required.
β’ Primarily involves sedentary work with extensive use of a desktop computer.
β’ Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and programs.
