Google Cloud Platform Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive cloud architectures utilizing Google Cloud services and established best practices

• Formulate cloud adoption strategies, landing zones, governance frameworks, and operational models

• Conduct cloud assessments and offer strategic recommendations for modernization

• Establish architecture standards, patterns, and reference architectures for enterprise settings

• Design scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions encompassing compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, and security

• Oversee the migration of workloads from on-premises, AWS, Azure, or other platforms to GCP

• Assist with containerization, Kubernetes, microservices, and cloud-native application architectures

• Work closely with delivery teams to guarantee successful implementation and operational readiness

• Serve as a reliable technical advisor throughout the project lifecycle

• Facilitate discovery workshops, architecture reviews, and executive presentations

• Convert business requirements into technical architecture designs

• Generate solution documentation, architecture diagrams, proposals, and statements of work

• Develop secure architectures that comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements

• Incorporate identity and access management, security controls, monitoring, and compliance frameworks into the solution architecture

• Set up governance, operational processes, and practices for cloud financial management

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to consultants, engineers, and project teams

• Mentor technical team members on cloud architecture principles and best practices

• Contribute to the advancement of practice development, service offerings, reusable assets, and thought leadership initiatives

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud consulting, or solution architecture

• More than 5 years of experience in designing and delivering public cloud solutions

• Hands-on experience in implementing enterprise-scale Google Cloud solutions

• Proven experience in leading cloud migration and modernization initiatives

• Experience in consulting or professional services is highly preferred

• In-depth knowledge of Google Compute Engine (GCE), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Cloud Networking, IAM, Security Command Center, and Cloud Monitoring and Operations Suite

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, with a preference for Terraform

• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices

• Experience with container and Kubernetes technologies

• Proficiency in data and analytics solutions, AI/ML services on GCP, hybrid cloud architectures, multi-cloud environments, enterprise integration patterns, or disaster recovery and business continuity planning

• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities

• Capacity to engage effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent consulting, facilitation, and influencing capabilities

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

• Strong customer orientation and dedication to delivery excellence
