Global Sourcing Manager – Industrial

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the implementation of global sourcing and supplier development strategies to meet Ferguson’s worldwide sourcing requirements.

• Establish product cost frameworks, pinpoint cost-reduction opportunities, and spearhead cost-optimization initiatives.

• Direct supplier research, qualification, and onboarding for designated categories.

• Manage contract negotiations and their execution.

• Execute global product development and sourcing projects, ensuring the successful advancement of the product development pipeline.

• Identify, lead, and coordinate efforts for supplier diversification.

• Assist with complex Business Unit integration projects and work together with functional teams during implementation.

• Cultivate cross-functional collaborations with various departments.

• Build and maintain long-term partnerships with global suppliers.

• Aid in the development and optimization of global sourcing and business operational processes.

• Lead evaluations of supplier scorecards and organize supplier business reviews.

• Implement intricate multifunctional special projects.

• Propel the strategic direction set by the company and department.

• Oversee supplier performance and facilitate the resolution of supplier-related issues.

• Ensure supply continuity and collaborate with procurement and global supply chain teams for inventory optimization.

• Contribute to the annual budget and operate within the approved budget parameters.

• Report to the Director of Global Sourcing while collaborating with regional general managers, sourcing teams, and cross-functional teams across Category Management, Product Development, Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance & Accounting, Procurement, HR, and Legal.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing, product development, design/engineering, material and commodity management, or related supply chain fields is preferred.

• CPSM Certification is preferred.

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Financial acumen combined with a technical mindset.

• Proficient public speaking skills with the capability to create and present effective presentations to large audiences.

• Ability to foster and develop relationships with external suppliers, internal colleagues, and other functional teams.

• In-depth knowledge of category-specific products, manufacturing techniques, and applications.

• Strong negotiation capabilities and a commitment to excellent customer service.

• Willingness to travel internationally, including to China, Southeast Asia, and India (10–15%).

• Ability to secure foreign travel visas, including for China, Vietnam, and India.

• Comprehensive understanding of the international manufacturing landscape, including the strengths and weaknesses of countries in PVF and commodity product categories.

• Experience in product engineering with the ability to address technical challenges and assist in executing corrective action plans.

• Familiarity with recognized benchmarks utilized in AML (Approved Manufacturers List) approvals.

• Experience in developing products that align with market specifications.

• Knowledge of industry standards, approvals, and certification processes, including API, NSF, ASTM, ANSI, and CRN.

• Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Power BI.

• Five years of sourcing and manufacturing experience in the industrial valve and/or PVF sector.

• Experience with Ferguson branches is preferred.
