Global Sourcing Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the implementation of the customer’s yearly capital expenditure plans for laboratory equipment.

• Negotiate purchases of laboratory equipment and service agreements.

• Recognize synergies and potential cost savings between the Laboratory Asset Management Program and the equipment purchasing strategy.

• Guide equipment requestors through the procurement process.

• Supervise a global sourcing team and promote best practices in procurement.

• Negotiate supplier quotations within stipulated SLAs and coordinate with suppliers and equipment requestors.

• Enter revised quotes into the ticketing system workflow.

• Build strategic alliances with key suppliers.

• Establish supplier performance metrics, dashboards, and scorecards.

• Explore alternative sources for equipment and consider used equipment options.

• Validate pricing in accordance with customer pricing agreements and ensure quotes reflect these agreements.

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and value generation.

• Monitor realized savings.

• Advise scientists on preferred suppliers and standardized equipment selections.

• Assist with supplier setup requests and initiatives for supplier reduction.

• Communicate delivery logistics to on-site staff for pass-through purchases.

• Lead sourcing teams and manage associated Renovo KPIs for repair and maintenance services.

• Oversee purchase order procedures and SOPs for external service providers.

• Educate and mentor the sourcing team on sourcing practices for service contracts.

• Review OEM/ISO service contracts and expenditures on time-and-materials.

• Formulate negotiation strategies and negotiate SLAs, pricing discounts, service contracts, repairs, and parts.

• Identify synergies between capital equipment and service agreements.

• Provide additional support during budgeting and service contract procurement phases.

• Lead the evaluation of supplier service performance through scorecarding and vendor business reviews.

• Engage in Renovo QBRs and conduct regular reviews of supplier performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business is preferred.

• Over 7 years of experience in procurement.

• Proficient in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI).

• Experience with laboratory equipment.

• Skilled in enhancing data accuracy, promoting compliance, and facilitating informed decision-making across various teams.

• Knowledge of GxP and data integrity requirements in regulated settings.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey data insights into strategic recommendations for non-technical audiences.

• Proven experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment.

• Demonstrated impact on operational efficiency.

• Stakeholder satisfaction and successful adoption of data tools and dashboards.

• Experience collaborating with business leaders and operations teams.

• Competencies in accountability, communication, financial insight, integrity, customer service, prioritization, and team-building.

• Must adhere to OSHA guidelines regarding blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, radiation, sharp instruments/tools, hazardous liquids, and operating devices.

• Must possess sensory abilities to differentiate between hot and cold temperature ranges, surfaces, fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and color recognition.

• Ability to routinely lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including quarterly customer visits and international travel as required by specific projects.
