This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the execution of strategic logistics initiatives and programs within an international ZEISS framework.
• Create project structures, organizational charts, timelines, contractual milestones, work packages, scope of delivery, target costs, deadlines, and project initiation activities.
• Manage project execution and monitoring activities.
• Coordinate with project participants, internal departments, contractual partners, suppliers, and customers regarding interfaces, deliverables, milestones, project status, corrective measures, financial objectives, and contractual responsibilities.
• Select, manage, and provide professional guidance to project participants.
• Ensure projects and programs are delivered on schedule, meet quality standards, adhere to approved budgets, and fulfill business expectations.
• Offer second-level support and address operational or implementation-related inquiries following project handover.
• Contribute to IT architecture concepts for comprehensive logistics processes across various IT platforms and applications.
• Collaborate with strategic logistics service providers, IT partners, ZEISS SBUs, SSCs, and internal teams.
• Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and assist in the acquisition and scoping of customer-centric projects.
• Convert customer requirements into actionable project specifications and evaluate technical, IT-related, economic, contractual, and timeline feasibility.
• Oversee proposal preparation and identify as well as mitigate risks associated with availability, reliability, security, cost, scope, and delivery commitments.
• Liaise with internal departments and external advisors regarding legal, tax, and customs obligations.
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, industrial engineering, business informatics, business administration, or a related field of study.
• Advanced or international education is preferred.
• A minimum of five years of professional experience in supply chain management, logistics, or global project management within an internationally operating organization.
• Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional, and international logistics or SCM projects from planning through implementation and post-go-live support.
• Strong understanding of project management techniques, end-to-end logistics processes, and IT-enabled supply chain solutions.
• Familiarity with SAP SCM modules or certification is preferred.
• Ability to assess complex project requirements across technical, IT, economic, ecological, contractual, and scheduling aspects and translate them into practical, business-oriented solutions.
• Experience collaborating with strategic logistics service providers, IT partners, internal customers, and contractual partners in a global business context.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and intercultural collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of Lean Management principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
• High degree of intrinsic motivation, ownership, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
• Proficient in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel 30% - 50% of the time.
