This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Establish and lead the global business development strategy for SGS Medical Devices.
• Discover growth prospects within medical schemes, various markets, and customer demographics.
• Oversee the Global Medical Business Development team.
• Offer business development support, coordination, and enablement to country, Delivering Office, and Hub sales teams without direct line management responsibilities.
• Convert market, client, competitor, and regulatory insights into service offerings, go-to-market strategies, and strategic growth plans.
• Develop and uphold the global business development roadmap for all Medical schemes.
• Coordinate business development efforts across different countries, Delivering Offices, and Hubs.
• Create organized analyses of market trends, client requirements, competitor activities, regulatory changes, and pricing dynamics.
• Formulate business cases and oversee the incubation, launch, and scaling of Medical certification schemes and service offerings.
• Identify opportunities in emerging markets, new customer segments, strategic partnerships, and cross-SGS collaborations.
• Shape value propositions, positioning strategies, pricing principles, and go-to-market toolkits in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Assist sales teams with local business development strategies, customer management, pipeline conversion, and sales objectives.
• Energize the international Medical sales and business development community through forums, best-practice sharing, training, and opportunity assessments.
• Coordinate support for strategic, complex, or multi-country initiatives and engage in priority client interactions.
• Facilitate the exchange of qualified opportunities and market insights throughout the network.
• Encourage consistent usage of CRM and reporting systems.
• Represent SGS at selected external forums, conferences, and industry events.
• Balance growth initiatives with regulatory compliance, impartiality, integrity, capacity, and delivery obligations.
• Provide market and demand insights for capacity modeling, subcontractor strategies, and workforce planning.
• Participate in the Global Medical Leadership team, offering regular input, reporting, and data.
• Manage projects and processes from initiation to implementation.
• Lead continuous improvement and standardization initiatives across Medical Devices.
• Collaborate with line managers to ensure smooth transitions from contract review to delivery.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, qualification, and competence management efforts.
• Ensure adherence to SGS integrity policies, impartiality standards, and confidentiality obligations.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and aid in regulatory and accreditation preparedness.
• Secure resources for conformity assessment activities.
• Promote process harmonization across schemes and regions.
• Be accountable for activities and decisions made by the notified body, including contractual agreements.
• Proven expertise in global business development, market development, portfolio expansion, and go-to-market coordination within the medical devices or TIC sector.
• Knowledge of MDR/IVDR and international regulatory frameworks.
• Strong skills in market intelligence, opportunity evaluation, business case formulation, service proposition design, positioning, and pricing.
• Ability to influence, enable, and coordinate country sales teams in a matrix environment without formal authority.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills across commercial, technical, regulatory, and operational areas.
• Demonstrated capability to work proactively and independently, taking ownership of global initiatives from conception to execution.
• Strong organizational, project, and change management skills.
• Solid commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the TIC industry.
• Familiarity with conformity assessment processes and Notified Body operations.
• Multilingual proficiency and experience in cross-cultural environments.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, market development, portfolio management, or a similar growth role within the medical device TIC industry or a closely related regulated B2B sector.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing business development strategies across multiple countries or regions.
• Success in coordinating and enabling distributed sales or commercial teams in a matrix organization without direct line authority.
• Experience in developing new markets, strategic partnerships, service propositions, or complex multi-country opportunities.
• Background in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects while balancing growth objectives with regulatory, compliance, and operational considerations.
• Familiarity with utilizing market intelligence, CRM, and commercial performance data to prioritize initiatives and support decision-making.
• Experience collaborating with regulatory bodies, industry associations, or certification organizations.
• Exposure to international business environments and experience navigating matrix organizational structures.
• A university degree in business, marketing, life sciences, engineering, or a related field.
• Valid work permit for the applicable European location.
