This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Establish and drive the global business development strategy for SGS Medical Devices.
• Recognize growth prospects across medical schemes, markets, and customer segments.
• Lead the Global Medical Business Development team.
• Offer business development support, coordination, and facilitation to country, Delivering Office, and Hub sales teams without direct line management responsibility.
• Convert market, client, competitor, and regulatory insights into service propositions, go-to-market priorities, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Create and uphold the global business development roadmap for all Medical schemes.
• Coordinate business development efforts across countries, Delivering Offices, and Hubs.
• Develop market intelligence that includes trends, client needs, competitor actions, regulatory changes, and pricing dynamics.
• Formulate business cases and oversee the incubation, launch, and scaling of Medical certification schemes and service offerings.
• Discover opportunities in emerging markets, new customer segments, strategic partnerships, and cross-SGS collaborations.
• Shape value propositions, positioning, pricing strategies, and go-to-market toolkits in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Assist sales teams with local business development strategies, customer management, pipeline conversion, and sales goals.
• Energize the international Medical sales and business development community through forums, best-practice sharing, training, opportunity reviews, and commercial tools.
• Coordinate support for strategic, complex, or multi-country opportunities and engage in priority client interactions.
• Promote the sharing of qualified opportunities and market intelligence and encourage consistent use of CRM and reporting.
• Represent SGS at select external forums, conferences, and industry events.
• Balance growth initiatives with regulatory, impartiality, integrity, capacity, and delivery demands.
• Provide market and demand insights for capacity modeling, subcontractor strategy, and workforce planning.
• Participate in the Global Medical Leadership team, offering regular input, reporting, and data.
• Own projects and processes from initiation through implementation, ensuring alignment in regulatory, commercial, and operational aspects.
• Lead continuous improvement and standardization efforts across Medical Devices schemes and regions.
• Collaborate with line managers to facilitate a smooth transition from contract review to delivery.
• Aid in recruitment, onboarding, qualification, and competence management of personnel.
• Ensure adherence to SGS integrity policies, impartiality standards, and confidentiality commitments.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and contribute to regulatory and accreditation preparedness.
• Secure necessary resources for conformity assessment activities.
• Be accountable for notified body activities, decisions, and contractual agreements.
• At least 5 years of experience in business development, market development, portfolio management, or a similar growth role within the medical device TIC industry or a closely related regulated B2B environment.
• Proven track record in developing and executing business development strategies across multiple countries or regions.
• Demonstrated success in coordinating and enabling distributed sales or commercial teams within a matrix organization without direct line authority.
• Experience in developing new markets, strategic partnerships, service propositions, or complex multi-country opportunities.
• Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects while balancing growth objectives with regulatory, compliance, and operational limitations.
• Proficiency in utilizing market intelligence, CRM, and commercial performance data to prioritize initiatives and aid decision-making.
• Demonstrated expertise in global business development, market development, portfolio growth, and go-to-market coordination within medical devices or the TIC industry.
• Knowledge of MDR/IVDR and international regulatory frameworks.
• Strong skills in market intelligence, opportunity assessment, business case development, service proposition design, positioning, and pricing.
• Capability to influence, enable, and coordinate country sales teams in a matrix environment without formal authority.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills across commercial, technical, regulatory, and operational functions.
• Proven ability to work proactively and independently, taking ownership of global initiatives from concept to implementation.
• Strong organizational, project management, and change management skills.
• Solid commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the TIC industry.
• Familiarity with conformity assessment procedures and Notified Body operations.
• Multilingual proficiency and cross-cultural experience.
• University degree in business, marketing, life sciences, engineering, or a related field.
• Valid work permit in Europe.
