This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Define and lead the global business development strategy for SGS Medical Devices.
• Identify opportunities for growth across various medical schemes, markets, and customer demographics.
• Direct the Global Medical Business Development team without direct or indirect management of country, Delivering Office, and Hub sales teams.
• Convert market, client, competitor, and regulatory insights into service propositions, strategic growth initiatives, and go-to-market priorities.
• Connect global business development with country sales, marketing, technical, regulatory, and operational teams.
• Establish and uphold the global business development roadmap for all Medical schemes.
• Spearhead the global Medical Business Development strategy and coordinate initiatives across different countries, DOs, and Hubs.
• Build market intelligence regarding trends, client requirements, competitor activities, regulatory changes, and pricing dynamics.
• Develop business cases and oversee the incubation, launch, and scaling of Medical certification schemes and service offerings.
• Identify opportunities in emerging markets, customer segments, strategic partnerships, and collaborative efforts across SGS.
• Craft value propositions, positioning statements, pricing principles, and go-to-market toolkits.
• Assist sales teams with local business development plans, customer management, pipeline conversion, and achieving sales targets.
• Energize the international Medical sales and business development community through forums, sharing best practices, training, and opportunity evaluations.
• Coordinate support for strategic, complex, or multi-country opportunities and engage in priority client interactions.
• Facilitate the sharing of qualified opportunities and market intelligence while promoting the use of CRM and reporting platforms.
• Represent SGS at selected external forums, conferences, and industry events.
• Balance growth opportunities with regulatory, impartiality, integrity, capacity, and delivery requirements.
• Provide market and demand insights for capacity modeling, subcontractor strategies, and workforce planning.
• Participate in the Global Medical Leadership team, delivering regular input, reporting, and data.
• Own projects and processes from inception to execution, driving continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with line managers to ensure a smooth transition from contract review to delivery.
• Assist in recruitment, onboarding, qualification, and competence management.
• Ensure adherence to SGS integrity policies, impartiality requirements, and confidentiality obligations.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders and contribute to regulatory and accreditation preparedness.
• Secure resources for conformity assessment activities across Medical schemes.
• Promote process standardization and harmonization across schemes and regions.
• Be accountable for notified body activities and decisions, including contractual agreements.
• Proven expertise in global business development, market development, portfolio growth, and go-to-market coordination within the medical devices or TIC industry.
• Knowledge of MDR/IVDR and international regulatory frameworks.
• Strong skills in market intelligence, opportunity assessment, business case development, service proposition design, positioning, and pricing.
• Ability to influence, enable, and coordinate country sales teams within a matrix environment without formal authority.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills across commercial, technical, regulatory, and operational functions.
• Proven ability to work proactively and independently, taking ownership of global initiatives from conception to implementation.
• Strong organizational, project, and change management skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the TIC industry.
• Familiarity with conformity assessment procedures and Notified Body operations.
• Multilingual skills and cross-cultural experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in business development, market development, portfolio management, or a similar growth role in the medical device TIC industry or a closely related regulated B2B environment.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing business development strategies across multiple countries or regions.
• Proven success in coordinating and enabling distributed sales or commercial communities in a matrix organization without direct line authority.
• Experience in developing new markets, strategic partnerships, service propositions, or complex multi-country opportunities.
• Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects while balancing growth objectives with regulatory, compliance, and operational constraints.
• Experience utilizing market intelligence, CRM, and commercial performance data to prioritize initiatives and support decision-making.
• Experience collaborating with regulatory bodies, industry associations, or certification organizations.
• Exposure to international business settings and experience navigating matrix organizational structures.
• A university degree in business, marketing, life sciences, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Valid work permit for the relevant European location.
