This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Establish and drive the global business development agenda for SGS Medical Devices.
• Discover growth opportunities across medical schemes, markets, and customer segments.
• Lead the Global Medical Business Development team without direct or indirect line management roles for country, Delivering Office, or Hub sales teams.
• Convert market, client, competitor, and regulatory insights into service propositions, go-to-market strategies, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Develop and uphold the global business development roadmap for all Medical schemes.
• Manage business development initiatives across various countries, Delivering Offices, and Hubs.
• Create business cases and oversee the incubation, launch, and scaling of new or enhanced Medical certification schemes and service offerings.
• Identify opportunities in emerging markets, new customer segments, strategic partnerships, and cross-SGS collaborations.
• Craft value propositions, positioning, pricing strategies, and go-to-market toolkits in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Assist sales teams in local business development strategies, customer engagement, pipeline conversion, and meeting sales targets.
• Organize forums, share best practices, provide training, conduct opportunity reviews, and facilitate commercial tools for the international Medical sales and business development community.
• Coordinate support for strategic, complex, or multi-country opportunities and engage in priority client interactions.
• Encourage the sharing of qualified opportunities and market intelligence while ensuring consistent utilization of CRM and reporting platforms.
• Represent SGS at selected external forums, conferences, and industry events.
• Balance growth potential with regulatory, impartiality, integrity, capacity, and delivery requirements.
• Provide market and demand insights for capacity modeling, subcontractor strategies, and workforce planning.
• Lead projects from initiation to implementation and drive continuous improvement across Medical Devices.
• Oversee processes to ensure regulatory, commercial, and operational alignment.
• Assist in recruiting, onboarding, qualifying, and managing personnel competencies.
• Ensure adherence to SGS integrity policies, impartiality requirements, and confidentiality obligations.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and contribute to regulatory and accreditation readiness.
• Secure resources for conformity assessment activities across Medical schemes.
• Drive standardization and harmonization of processes across schemes and regions.
• Be accountable for the activities and decisions made by the notified body, including contractual agreements.
• At least 5 years of experience in business development, market development, portfolio management, or a similar growth role within the medical device TIC industry or a related regulated B2B environment.
• Proven experience in developing and executing business development strategies across multiple countries or regions.
• Demonstrated success in coordinating and empowering distributed sales or commercial teams in a matrix organization without direct line authority.
• Experience in developing new markets, forming strategic partnerships, creating service propositions, or managing complex multi-country opportunities.
• Proficient in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects while balancing growth objectives with regulatory, compliance, and operational constraints.
• Familiarity with utilizing market intelligence, CRM, and commercial performance data to prioritize initiatives and inform decision-making.
• Demonstrated expertise in global business development, market development, portfolio growth, and go-to-market coordination in the medical devices or TIC industry.
• Understanding of MDR/IVDR and international regulatory frameworks.
• Strong skills in market intelligence, opportunity assessment, business case development, service proposition design, positioning, and pricing.
• Ability to influence, enable, and coordinate country sales teams in a matrix environment without formal authority.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills across commercial, technical, regulatory, and operational functions.
• Proven ability to work proactively and independently, taking ownership of global initiatives from concept to implementation.
• Strong organizational, project, and change management skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and a deep appreciation for the TIC industry.
• Familiarity with conformity assessment procedures and Notified Body operations.
• Multilingual proficiency and experience working across different cultures.
• University degree in business, marketing, life sciences, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Valid work permit for the relevant European location.
