This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Establish and steer the global business development strategy for SGS Medical Devices
• Discover growth prospects across medical schemes, markets, and customer segments
• Direct the Global Medical Business Development team
• Offer business development assistance, coordination, and enablement to country, Delivering Office, and Hub sales teams without direct or indirect line management responsibilities
• Convert market, client, competitor, and regulatory insights into service offerings, go-to-market strategies, and strategic growth initiatives
• Define and uphold the global business development roadmap for all Medical schemes
• Spearhead the Global Medical Business Development strategy and align initiatives across countries, Delivering Offices, and Hubs
• Construct market intelligence on trends, client requirements, competitor actions, regulatory changes, and pricing dynamics
• Create business cases and oversee the incubation, launch, and expansion of Medical certification schemes and service offerings
• Identify opportunities in emerging markets, customer segments, strategic alliances, and cross-SGS collaboration
• Develop value propositions, positioning, pricing principles, and go-to-market toolkits
• Assist sales teams with local business development strategies, customer ownership, pipeline conversion, and sales objectives
• Energize the international Medical sales and business development community through forums, best-practice sharing, training, opportunity evaluations, and commercial tools
• Coordinate support for strategic, complex, or multi-country opportunities and engage in priority client interactions
• Facilitate the sharing of qualified opportunities and market intelligence across the network
• Encourage consistent use of CRM and reporting platforms
• Represent SGS at selected external forums, conferences, and industry events
• Balance growth initiatives with regulatory, impartiality, integrity, capacity, and delivery requirements
• Provide market and demand insights for capacity modeling, subcontractor strategies, and workforce planning
• Participate in the Global Medical Leadership team with regular contributions, reporting, and data delivery
• Own projects and processes from inception to implementation
• Lead continuous improvement and standardization initiatives across Medical Devices
• Collaborate with line managers to ensure a smooth transition from contract review to delivery
• Support recruitment, onboarding, qualification, and competence management
• Ensure compliance with SGS integrity policies, impartiality requirements, and confidentiality obligations
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and assist with regulatory and accreditation readiness
• Secure resources for conformity assessment activities
• Promote process standardization and harmonization across schemes and regions
• Be accountable for activities and decisions made by the notified body, including contractual agreements
• University degree in business, marketing, life sciences, engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in business development, market development, portfolio management, or a similar growth role within the medical device TIC industry or a closely related regulated B2B sector
• Proven expertise in global business development, market development, portfolio growth, and go-to-market coordination within medical devices or the TIC industry
• Knowledge of MDR/IVDR and international regulatory frameworks
• Strong skills in market intelligence, opportunity evaluation, business case creation, service proposition design, positioning, and pricing
• Ability to influence, enable, and coordinate country sales teams in a matrix environment without formal authority
• Excellent facilitation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills across commercial, technical, regulatory, and operational functions
• Proven ability to work proactively and independently, taking ownership of global initiatives from idea to implementation
• Strong organizational, project management, and change management skills
• Solid commercial acumen and deep understanding of the TIC industry
• Familiarity with conformity assessment processes and Notified Body operations
• Multilingual abilities and cross-cultural experience
• Experience in developing and executing business development strategies across multiple countries or regions
• Demonstrated success in coordinating and enabling distributed sales or commercial communities in a matrix organization without direct line authority
• Experience in developing new markets, strategic partnerships, service propositions, or complex multi-country opportunities
• Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects while balancing growth objectives with regulatory, compliance, and operational constraints
• Experience utilizing market intelligence, CRM, and commercial performance data to prioritize initiatives and support decision-making
• Valid work permit for the candidate's European location
