This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Establish and steer the global business development strategy for SGS Medical Devices.
• Discover growth prospects across various medical schemes, markets, and customer demographics.
• Lead the Global Medical Business Development team.
• Offer business development assistance, coordination, and enablement to country, Delivering Office, and Hub sales teams without direct line management responsibilities.
• Convert market, client, competitor, and regulatory insights into service offerings, go-to-market strategies, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Define and uphold the global business development roadmap for Medical schemes.
• Synchronize business development efforts across countries, Delivering Offices, and Hubs.
• Create business cases and oversee the incubation, launch, and scaling of Medical certification schemes and service offerings.
• Identify opportunities in emerging markets, new customer segments, strategic alliances, and cross-SGS collaboration.
• Develop value propositions, positioning, pricing strategies, and go-to-market toolkits in conjunction with cross-functional teams.
• Assist sales teams with local business development strategies, customer ownership, pipeline conversion, and sales objectives.
• Energize the international Medical sales and business development community through forums, best-practice sharing, training, and opportunity evaluations.
• Organize support for strategic, intricate, or multi-country opportunities while engaging in key client interactions.
• Facilitate the exchange of qualified opportunities and market intelligence, and encourage the use of CRM and reporting platforms.
• Represent SGS at selected external forums, conferences, and industry events.
• Balance growth strategies with regulatory, impartiality, integrity, capacity, and delivery obligations.
• Provide market and demand insights for capacity modeling, subcontractor strategy, and workforce planning.
• Engage in the Global Medical Leadership team, offering regular contributions, reporting, and data.
• Manage projects and processes from inception through to execution.
• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, standardization, and harmonization across Medical Devices.
• Collaborate with line managers to ensure smooth transitions from contract review to delivery.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, qualification, and competence management.
• Ensure adherence to SGS integrity policies, impartiality standards, and confidentiality commitments.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and support regulatory and accreditation preparedness.
• Acquire resources for conformity assessment activities.
• Take responsibility for activities and decisions made by the notified body, including contractual agreements.
• Proven expertise in global business development, market expansion, portfolio enhancement, and go-to-market coordination within the medical devices or TIC sector.
• Knowledge of MDR/IVDR and international regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency in market intelligence, opportunity evaluation, business case formulation, service proposition design, positioning, and pricing.
• Ability to influence, enable, and coordinate country sales teams in a matrix organization without formal authority.
• Strong facilitation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills across commercial, technical, regulatory, and operational domains.
• Capability to work proactively and independently while owning global initiatives from conception to execution.
• Excellent organizational, project, and change management skills.
• Strong commercial insight and understanding of the TIC industry.
• Familiarity with conformity assessment procedures and Notified Body operations.
• Multilingual ability and cross-cultural experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in business development, market development, portfolio management, or a similar growth-oriented role within the medical device TIC industry or a closely related regulated B2B sector.
• Experience in developing and executing business development strategies across multiple countries or regions.
• Experience in coordinating and enabling distributed sales or commercial teams in a matrix organization without direct line authority.
• Background in developing new markets, strategic partnerships, service propositions, or complex multi-country opportunities.
• Experience managing intricate, multi-stakeholder projects while balancing growth targets with regulatory, compliance, and operational factors.
• Familiarity with using market intelligence, CRM, and commercial performance data to prioritize initiatives and inform decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, life sciences, engineering, or a related field.
• Valid work permit for the candidate's location in Europe.
