This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Take charge of the global event calendar by selecting industry trade shows and conferences, overseeing sponsorship negotiations, booth management, staffing, messaging, budgets, and on-site execution.
• Design and implement conference side-events, which include curated dinners, executive roundtables, breakfast briefings, and happy hours.
• Organize and manage GitBook-owned events such as roadshows, customer summits, documentation-focused meetups, and product launch events.
• Explore community engagement through hackathons, documentation sprints, and community events in collaboration with DevRel.
• Oversee online events, including webinars, virtual roundtables, and live streaming sessions.
• Develop GitBook’s event tiering model, which encompasses expenditure bands, staffing, pre-event and post-event activities, and tier criteria.
• Create event measurement metrics for cost per opportunity, event-sourced and event-influenced pipeline, target-account attendance, and closed-won conversion rates.
• Establish sales follow-up procedures, including target lists, event briefings, service level agreements (SLAs), and badge-scan follow-up processes.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on account selection, mapping buying committees, and executing account-based marketing strategies.
• Deliver a structured event calendar, CRM measurement framework, and agreed-upon sales follow-up methods within the first 90 days.
• Provide reports on pipeline performance, cost per opportunity, target-account penetration, and follow-up response times.
• 7–10 years of experience in B2B SaaS marketing, with substantial expertise in field marketing, event marketing, or integrated demand generation.
• Proven experience managing international programs, particularly in the USA.
• ROI-focused mindset with an emphasis on opportunities and cost per opportunity.
• Demonstrated ability to justify event budgets using data and to discontinue underperforming events.
• Proficiency in negotiating sponsorship contracts, managing booth logistics, composing invitation emails, and creating or coordinating the development of HubSpot dashboards or reports.
• Established credibility with sales and the capability to address questions regarding pipeline and event expenditures.
• Strong opinions on what constitutes a valuable event experience.
• Comfort in marketing to technical audiences, especially engineers and leaders in development.
• Ownership mentality; adept at defining processes, identifying potential issues early, and working independently.
• Readiness to travel as necessary.
• Some travel is anticipated, typically one to two weeks per quarter, with the possibility of up to a week per month during peak conference seasons.
• Opportunity to influence the development of GitBook’s products, culture, and overall direction.
• Potential for the role to expand in scope, budget, and ultimately team size.
