This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure that the Asylum Access family of organizations effectively fulfills and promotes its mission on a global scale.
• Lead the portfolio focused on global systems change.
• Position the global organization to enhance national-level legal empowerment and policy advocacy efforts.
• Develop a bold and cohesive vision for the protection of refugee human rights.
• Collaborate with national Executive Directors to shape global organizational strategy, priorities, and performance.
• Steward the organizational vision and its role within the global refugee response ecosystem.
• Formulate and implement organizational strategy across both global and national entities.
• Oversee budget management and resource allocation.
• Ensure robust programs, operations, and teams are in place.
• Collect data, evaluate trends, and guide the organization’s adaptability.
• Create theories of change and develop multi-year strategic, operational, and annual plans.
• Maintain organizational alignment with mission, vision, values, and branding.
• Establish governance structures and build consensus around organization-wide decisions.
• Inspire, motivate, and nurture staff development.
• Foster cohesion in global leadership and a culture of collaborative leadership.
• Supervise, hire, onboard, and manage the termination of National Executive Directors.
• Oversee the impact of programs and advocacy to ensure alignment with human rights principles.
• Enhance the global reputation and influence among decision-makers in displacement, human rights, and migration.
• Attract and retain funding, personnel, partnerships, and a positive reputation.
• Cultivate relationships with funders and donors.
• Define goals and priorities for global systems change.
• Evaluate effectiveness and impact, making program adjustments as necessary.
• Ensure strong practices in finance, accounting, human resources, systems, processes, risk management, and resource allocation.
• Support Board governance, including recruitment, learning, development, and ambassadorial activities.
• Proven track record of impactful work in refugee rights, legal empowerment, and/or policy advocacy.
• Executive-level management experience within a nonprofit environment, encompassing personnel management and complex operations.
• Experience in fundraising.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
• Creative and effective problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong leadership qualities, including integrity and the capacity to make tough decisions while guiding through transitions.
• Experience in leading and collaborating with teams across diverse global contexts.
• Ability to adapt leadership styles to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Effective time management skills, including prioritization and delegation.
• Decision-making abilities based on shared leadership, equity, collaboration, sustainability, and community-centered approaches.
• Capacity to anticipate trends, maintain foresight, and steer the organization accordingly.
• Kindness and consideration towards others.
• Flexibility to work across different international time zones.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish and/or other languages is a significant advantage.
• Willingness to engage in international travel.
