GIS Test and Deployment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a detailed testing strategy for the GIS migration solution, encompassing both automated and manual testing methods.

• Formulate test cases, scripts, and environments to verify the functionality, stability, and performance of the migration process.

• Organize and oversee the deployment of migration software in both testing and production settings.

• Ensure a reliable and repeatable deployment process utilizing tools and techniques such as CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with external development teams to synchronize and validate testing outcomes.

• Evaluate test results, detect defects, explore root causes, and assist in troubleshooting efforts.

• Strategize and carry out system, integration, and acceptance testing.

• Conduct individual test cases as needed.

• Record testing and deployment procedures while also preparing test reports, technical documents, and guidelines.

• Partner with developers, data specialists, and business stakeholders to facilitate successful GIS migration implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid understanding and hands-on experience in test architecture, automation, and management, preferably within GIS or data migration contexts.

• Experience with deployment methodologies, CI/CD, and version control systems.

• Familiarity with tools such as Xray, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.

• Knowledge of scripting and programming languages and technologies including Python/ArcPy, SQL, or Terraform.

• Hands-on experience in establishing and overseeing test environments.

• Background in system testing, integration testing, and acceptance testing.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, particularly in identifying technical challenges and their root causes.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with project stakeholders and external development teams.

• Capability to work autonomously and take charge of testing and deployment tasks.

• Experience in documenting technical procedures and preparing test reports and guidelines.

• Prior experience with GIS systems and data migration is a plus.
