GIS Analyst, GISP Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Gather, compile, organize, and analyze both spatial and tabular data to aid in the development of GIS applications.

• Update and maintain intricate database information utilizing the latest technologies.

• Provide GIS data and information to external clients.

• Publish GIS data, maps, analyses, reports, charts, and graphs in both static and online formats.

• Offer GIS system administration and support online content sharing by integrating GIS and related data.

• Edit GIS databases and conduct geocoding, geoprocessing, data conversion, workflow management, spatial analysis, and quality control.

• Develop and uphold GIS files alongside associated spatial and tabular databases.

• Research and create spatial layers, analyses, maps, reports, charts, and cartographic displays.

• Assist in researching and implementing new GIS spatial files.

• Create documents and presentations that convey planning recommendations, departmental communications, and GIS technical/business information.

• Operate under the general supervision of the GIS Manager.

• Perform related duties as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• GISP certification is mandatory for this position.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Geography, Mathematics, IT, Environmental Planning, GIS Technology, Cartography, Computer Science, or a related field is essential.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience with the Esri software ecosystem (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise) is required.

• Experience in client interfacing is necessary.

• Proven experience in a significant project management role.

• Familiarity with cartography standards, drafting principles, and design and graphics software is needed.

• Technical proficiency to troubleshoot and resolve complex mapping/GIS issues.

• Capability to write GIS strategic planning documents, policies/procedures, and GIS technical documentation.

• Proficiency in publishing GIS data, maps, analyses, reports, charts, and graphs as both static and online content.

• Ability to carry out GIS system administration, database editing, geocoding, geoprocessing, data conversion, workflow management, spatial analysis, and quality control.

• Exceptional administrative, organizational, communication, and cartographic abilities.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.

• Capacity to effectively present ideas and speak to groups.

• Willingness to learn and receptiveness to feedback.

• Professional demeanor, positive attitude, adaptability, and strong initiative are essential.

• A current GISP certification is required.
