German STEM Expert, PhD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Craft expert-level scientific prompts in German.

• Create technically sound content across specialized STEM disciplines.

• Utilize advanced subject-matter expertise in realistic scientific contexts.

• Assess technical responses for scientific accuracy, relevance, and usefulness.

• Spot erroneous assumptions, terminology, mechanisms, or conclusions.

• Review and annotate scientific responses according to structured criteria.

• Consistently categorize prompts and discussions.

• Analyze technical content that may involve sensitive or dual-use information.

• Implement structured guidelines regarding scientific safety considerations.

• Clearly document the rationale behind scientific safety judgments.

• Leverage knowledge of contemporary laboratory and computational methods within the specialist area.

• Assess scientific methodologies, experimental assumptions, technical processes, terminology, and reasoning.

• Generate technically precise and naturally fluent German-language scientific content.

• Evaluate specialized terminology for both linguistic and scientific accuracy.

• Clearly communicate in written English when recording evaluation decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD completed or currently underway in chemistry, biology, or a closely related STEM field.

• Native or near-native proficiency in German.

• Business-level written proficiency in English.

• Extensive expertise in a particular scientific subfield.

• Strong familiarity with modern laboratory and/or computational techniques.

• Excellent scientific reasoning and meticulous attention to technical detail.

• Sound judgement regarding scientific safety and ethical handling of dual-use information.

• Research or coursework in chemical safety and security, biosafety, biosecurity, or hazardous materials management is a plus.

• Experience in reviewing, grading, evaluating, or conducting red-team assessments of technical content is a plus.

• Prior experience with AI or machine learning is not mandatory.

• Work must be conducted without utilizing confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, institution, or other third party.

• H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this position.
