This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Service and repair commercial generators located on cell phone towers within the designated region.
• Maintain generators, troubleshoot and resolve issues, as well as install and replace components or entire systems.
• Carry out additional maintenance or enhancements on out-of-season equipment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and regular maintenance to ensure the readiness of generators.
• Interpret and adhere to blueprints and other design specifications for installation and repair tasks.
• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, along with other necessary components.
• Test installed components and systems to verify their proper functionality.
• Respond promptly to power and generator alarms.
• Execute work safely in the presence of hazards such as falls, electric shock, falling objects, and traffic conditions.
• Utilize required safety equipment and adhere to safety practices.
• Participate in designated safety and training meetings.
• A minimum of one year of substantial work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance software, hardware, and processes.
• Preferred two or more years of experience in generator maintenance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
• Moderate proficiency with computer skills.
• Basic understanding of relevant FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
• Capability to comply with OSHA standards.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds, as well as bend, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods.
• Competence in inspecting and effectively troubleshooting equipment and alarms, both visually and audibly.
• Willingness and capability to drive long distances and work during day, evening, or night shifts.
• Flexibility to work overtime, respond to emergency callouts, and be available on weekends and holidays as needed.
• Willingness to assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and to be away from home for extended durations.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination.
• Openness to travel as required.
• Ability to respond promptly to power and generator alarms, as well as assigned phone and email communications.
