This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Perform servicing and repair of commercial generators located on cell phone towers within the designated area.
• Carry out maintenance tasks, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and install or replace components or entire systems as needed.
• Execute additional maintenance or upgrades on equipment that is out of season.
• Conduct regular performance assessments and maintenance to guarantee generators are ready for operation.
• Interpret and adhere to blueprints and other design specifications for installation and repair tasks.
• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and related components.
• Test installed components to ensure they are functioning correctly.
• Respond swiftly to power or generator alarms, as well as any assigned phone and email communications.
• Work safely in environments with installation and maintenance hazards.
• Utilize safety equipment and adhere to established safety practices.
• Attend and engage in designated safety and training meetings.
• Responsibilities may shift or develop based on business and client requirements.
• At least one year of extensive, work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance software, hardware, and processes.
• Preferred two or more years of experience in generator maintenance.
• Comprehensive understanding of generator installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Familiarity with electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
• Moderate proficiency with computer systems.
• Basic understanding of relevant FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.
• Capability to comply with OSHA Standards.
• Physical ability to lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods.
• Skill in inspecting and troubleshooting equipment and alarms effectively, both visually and audibly.
• Willingness and capability to drive long distances and work during day, evening, or night shifts.
• Readiness to work overtime, respond to emergency callouts, and work on weekends and holidays as necessary.
• Ability to take on 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and be away from home for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination.
