This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop images and sequences that enhance visual direction, pitches, previs, IP development, and final broadcast shots.
• Construct and sustain ComfyUI workflows by integrating multiple models for specific shots.
• Train LoRAs on both image and video models while preparing well-balanced datasets.
• Assess and test new models based on quality, control, turnaround time, and cost effectiveness.
• Produce professional-quality visuals that meet studio standards.
• Create visual directions, lookframes, key visuals, animatics, and final shots.
• Investigate cinematic framing, lens selection, lighting, camera movement, and editing rhythm.
• Ensure consistency of characters, products, and visual worlds throughout shots.
• Save workflows, document model versions, and guarantee reproducible outcomes.
• Provide outputs that are suitable for compositing, 3D, and finishing teams, adhering to the required color space, resolution, frame rate, and passes.
• Utilize live-action plates, on-set capture, or mocap data to inform generation processes.
• Explore Gaussian Splatting and image-to-3D techniques for environments and previs.
• Monitor credit usage and compute reports as necessary.
• Collaborate with art directors, supervisors, producers, and artists across various departments.
• Articulate AI capabilities, limitations, and costs to producers and clients.
• Adhere to copyright, likeness consent requirements, and commercial licensing terms.
• Safeguard confidential client materials and utilize only studio-approved platforms.
• Stay updated on developments in image, video, 3D, and audio models.
• Document methodologies and contribute to the internal library of workflows, LoRAs, style references, and test outcomes.
• Mentor artists from other departments and actively contribute to Rodeo FX’s collaborative AI culture.
• A portfolio that showcases strong visual taste and judgment, covering composition, lighting, style, and storytelling.
• An artistic background in illustration, photography, concept art, compositing, motion design, cinematography, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in ComfyUI with the ability to develop custom workflows and graphs.
• Experience in training LoRAs and preparing datasets.
• Proficiency in at least two video-generation models and several image-generation models.
• A solid understanding of the strengths and limitations of generative models.
• Familiarity with VFX workflows and advertising production constraints, including tight deadlines, feedback loops, version management, and budget considerations.
• Proficiency in Photoshop is essential.
• Foundational skills in compositing are highly preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
• Knowledge of Python, Nuke, Houdini, Blender, or Unreal Engine is advantageous.
• Experience in developing custom ComfyUI nodes or contributing to open-source projects is a plus.
• A background in delivering advertising or post-production work is beneficial.
• Familiarity with on-set capture techniques that support generative workflows is a plus.
