This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Formulate strategic direction and provide oversight for non-timber revenue-generating initiatives on client properties.

• Create and capitalize on non-timber revenue opportunities across client lands.

• Take ownership of and implement all value-added services projects to enhance revenue streams on client properties.

• Report directly to the President of MFM.

• Engage regularly with Portfolio Management, Client Services, Global Resources and Planning, Operations, and Accounting teams.

• Uphold client fiduciary responsibilities.

• Prioritize safety and environmental stewardship.

• Establish and nurture service-oriented relationships with MFM and MIMT personnel.

• Address ongoing information and communication needs for various regional teams.

• Provide leadership for a team of approximately 9 employees.

• Develop and implement a recreation strategy aimed at achieving top-quartile recreational usage rates.

• Direct and manage value-added revenue projects, such as carbon and wetland mitigation banks, sand, clay, and gravel sales, water filtration/storage, pine straw, and renewable energy initiatives.

• Cultivate internal talent to identify non-core revenue prospects.

• Oversee management of non-core revenue projects, ensuring compliance with safety, stewardship, SFI®, and FSC® standards, as well as marketing, planning, recreational usage, and protection.

• Supervise asset management operations, including acquisitions and dispositions.

• Lead communication efforts related to stakeholders, public relations, regulatory monitoring, industry involvement, and government relations.

• Assist in the formulation and execution of policies.

• Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures and compliance with relevant federal, state, and local laws.

• Manage regional client accounting tasks, encompassing general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation, financial accounting, debt management, and cash flow requirements.

• Collaborate with the Resource Support Team on forest inventory, forest planning, and modeling interfaces.

• Represent the organization in regional industry associations and committees.

• Manage transactions exceeding $100 million annually across North America.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in an environmental field or equivalent experience is necessary.

• A graduate degree in an environmental-related discipline or business management is highly preferred.

• Experience collaborating with agencies overseeing non-core revenue projects, such as wetland mitigation banks.

• At least 10 years of experience in environmental project management.

• Minimum of 10 years of management and leadership experience within a large and complex organization.

• Proven ability to lead teams, foster cross-functional collaboration, and operate effectively in a self-directed setting.

• Exceptional relationship-building, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Strong analytical, financial, and technological competencies.

• Robust asset management expertise.

• Strong customer service orientation.
