General Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to the business on corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues across various jurisdictions, with a primary emphasis on the UK.

• Draft, negotiate, and oversee commercial agreements, including those related to publishing, licensing, intellectual property, SaaS, procurement, and strategic partnerships.

• Identify legal risks, offer practical recommendations, and facilitate informed business decisions.

• Assist in cross-border legal initiatives, corporate governance, and international compliance.

• Manage intellectual property issues, encompassing trademarks, copyrights, licensing, and IP protection.

• Lead efforts in GDPR compliance, privacy governance, data processing agreements, and cross-border data transfers.

• Enhance contract management, legal documentation standards, and legal operations.

• Support statutory audits, due diligence projects, and regulatory assessments.

• Implement AI-driven legal workflows and automation for contract drafting, legal research, document review, compliance monitoring, and knowledge management.

• Collaborate with external legal advisors across various jurisdictions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience as a senior in-house legal counsel or general counsel within an international organization.

• Established in-house legal expertise in the game development sector.

• Comprehensive international legal experience across multiple jurisdictions.

• Strong proficiency in UK corporate and commercial law.

• Extensive experience with commercial contracts, licensing, and intellectual property.

• Capability to navigate unfamiliar jurisdictions by collaborating effectively with external counsel.

• Business-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate legal risks effectively.

• Strong sense of ownership and readiness to take responsibility beyond a specific area of expertise.

• Enthusiasm for enhancing legal processes through AI and modern legal technologies.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

• Proficiency in English and Russian is considered an advantage.
