This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Drive sales throughout the molecular cloning continuum, with a focus on GeneArt Gene Synthesis and GeneArt Cloning Services.
• Collaborate with researchers to comprehend their experimental objectives and suggest gene synthesis, cloning, enzyme, competent cell, PCR reagent, and other related molecular biology solutions.
• Provide support to customers across New England and the eastern United States.
• Work in conjunction with Account Managers and cross-functional commercial teams to identify opportunities and enhance customer workflows.
• Act as the technical authority for the GeneArt Gene Synthesis and Cloning product line.
• Advise academic, biotech, pharmaceutical, and government researchers on comprehensive workflow solutions.
• Establish and nurture relationships with principal investigators, research scientists, core facility leaders, and laboratory managers.
• Seek out new business opportunities and grow existing accounts through workflow integration, reagent attachment, and cross-selling strategies.
• Create and implement territory business plans.
• Collaborate with Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Marketing, Product Management, and Technical Support teams.
• Position Thermo Fisher’s complete cloning workflow and distinguish its solutions from those of competitors.
• Conduct technical presentations, seminars, lunch-and-learns, and customer workshops.
• Maintain an opportunity pipeline, forecast territory performance, and provide updates using Salesforce.
• Gather competitive intelligence and customer insights to inform product development and commercial strategies.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related Life Science discipline is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
• A strong preference for a combination of life sciences sales experience and bench work.
• An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) is preferred.
• A passion for addressing molecular biology challenges and blending technical knowledge with consultative selling.
• Capability to develop long-term customer relationships within a collaborative, field-based setting.
• Proficiency in identifying opportunities, navigating complex research workflows, and presenting scientific solutions.
• Familiarity with Salesforce for managing opportunity pipelines and forecasting.
