Full-time Faculty – PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Teach courses in Counselor Education and Supervision for Ph.D. students in accelerated formats of seven and fourteen weeks, incorporating both synchronous and asynchronous elements.

• Provide instruction, create curriculum, evaluate student learning outcomes, and assess the overall program.

• Engage in research activities and uphold an active professional scholarship.

• Mentor and advise doctoral candidates.

• Take part in administrative duties, committee involvement, faculty meetings, and the development and evaluation of courses and programs.

• Support CCU’s Christ-centered mission through teamwork, committee participation, community development, and related initiatives.

• Engage in faculty development opportunities and participate in assigned university events.

• Utilize Brightspace and other designated technologies.

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert by creating, revising, assessing, and aligning doctoral courses with the PhD-CES Assessment Plan and CACREP standards.

• Evaluate and suggest enhancements for student learning and the PhD-CES program.

• Serve as the primary advisor or a committee member for dissertation committees.

• Act as a designated faculty mentor/advisor for assigned PhD-CES students.

• Represent the PhD-CES program and the School of Counseling at specified CAGS center locations.

• Maintain professional memberships, certifications/licenses, and engage in advocacy, research, and scholarly activities.

• Create an annual Service, Practice, and/or Scholarship Plan that includes at least 20 hours of professional development each year.

• Keep clinical competencies and adhere to the regulations of state governing bodies, the ACA Code of Ethics, ACES best practices, and CACREP standards.

• Work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary for course offerings and faculty responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision (CES), ideally from a CACREP-accredited institution.

• An equivalent doctoral degree alongside full-time faculty experience in a counselor education program for at least one full academic year prior to July 1, 2013 will also be considered.

• Relevant clinical experience suitable for teaching at the graduate and doctoral levels.

• Appropriate certification and/or licensure (e.g., LPC, LMHC) may be necessary for teaching certain courses.

• Understanding and practical application of adult learning theory.

• Experience instructing graduate-level courses.

• Proven scholarship record, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations at professional conferences.

• Familiarity with ethical standards in professional counseling and counselor education and supervision.

• Exceptional oral, interpersonal, and written communication abilities.

• Capability to collaborate effectively within the CCU community.

• Proficient in technological course tools and relevant Microsoft Office applications.

• Preferred experience in curriculum development and CACREP program accreditation.

• Experience in supervising and mentoring doctoral students on quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research projects is preferred.

• Extensive experience in counselor supervision is preferred.

• Leadership experience in professional counseling organizations is preferred.

• Prior experience in securing external research funding is preferred.

• A committed follower of Jesus Christ and traditional evangelical Christian.

• Ability to express personal faith and apply biblical principles in a professional environment.

• A strong sense of calling towards the ministry of Colorado Christian University.

• Active participation in a Bible-believing evangelical local church.

• Knowledge of the Word of God and a passion for Christian education.

• Must be legally authorized to reside and work in the United States.
