
Frontend Developer – React, Shopify Hydrogen

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +5 more countries.
• Oversee and enhance the customized Shopify Hydrogen storefront utilizing React and React Router.
• Create responsive and accessible interfaces with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with Shopify’s Storefront API, GraphQL, and manage collections, products, variants, metafields, and other Shopify data.
• Convert business needs and preliminary mockups into seamless, functional ecommerce solutions.
• Assess proposed features for technical viability and suggest alternatives when faced with API or platform constraints.
• Diagnose issues across the storefront, Shopify data/APIs, browser behaviors, and third-party integrations.
• Utilize Storyblok headless CMS and Algolia search and recommendation features.
• Implement and troubleshoot ecommerce analytics and marketing integrations.
• Address ecommerce SEO needs, including redirects, canonical tags, structured data, breadcrumbs, metadata, and indexability.
• Enhance frontend performance, usability, and maintainability.
• Clearly communicate technical limitations, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical team members.
• Collaborate effectively within and enhance an existing custom codebase.
• A minimum of 3 years of substantial hands-on professional experience with Shopify Hydrogen, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React Router.
• Proven experience in developing headless ecommerce storefronts.
• At least 3 years of experience with Shopify Storefront API.
• In-depth knowledge of GraphQL.
• Familiarity with Shopify products, variants, collections, and metafields.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with APIs and third-party integrations.
• Capability to enhance and work within an existing custom codebase.
• Strong judgment in UI/UX design.
• Proficient in translating business requirements or rough mockups into functional interfaces.
• Understanding of responsive and accessible frontend development practices.
• Ability to recognize technical or usability limitations prior to implementation.
• Skill in recommending practical alternatives when a proposed approach is not technically suitable.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to clearly articulate technical constraints and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of assigned tasks.
• Nice to have: Experience with Shopify theme architecture and customization.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with Storyblok or another headless CMS.
• Nice to have: Experience with Algolia in React or headless ecommerce settings.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of ecommerce analytics and event tracking, including GA4.
• Nice to have: Experience with Klaviyo or similar marketing integrations in a headless environment.
• Nice to have: Understanding of ecommerce SEO and site migrations.
• Nice to have: Experience migrating established ecommerce sites from custom platforms to Shopify/Hydrogen.
• Nice to have: Skills in performance optimization, Git, testing, and deployment workflows.
