Freelancer – Simplified Chinese to Portuguese (Brazil) – MTPE, Proofreading in Legal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Localize contracts, agreements, and various legal documents.

• Conduct comprehensive machine translation post-editing (MTPE).

• Carry out proofreading tasks.

• Complete onboarding procedures and service-specific assessments.

• Provide distinct per-word pricing for MTPE and proofreading services.

• Become a member of TransPerfect’s long-term freelancer network for ongoing and future contract/legal localization assignments.

• Communication and application should be conducted exclusively via email.

⛳️ Requirements

• Language pair: Simplified Chinese to Portuguese (Brazil).

• Services: Full post-editing (MTPE) and/or proofreading.

• Must be a native speaker of Portuguese (Brazil).

• Relevant experience in legal localization projects is essential.

• Either 2+ years of professional experience with a language-related degree, or 5+ years of professional experience without a degree.

• Completion of a subject-specific automotive test and service-specific assessments is required.

• A contract-related test and MTPE test are mandatory.

• A proofreading assessment is necessary if applying for proofreading services.

• Ability to provide separate rates for MTPE and proofreading in USD.

• A CV is required.

• Confirmation of availability to complete the tests in the upcoming days is needed.

• Details of legal/contracts/agreements localization experience, including years of experience, estimated word counts, end clients, subjects, or document types.

• Information on proficiency in Portuguese (Brazil) and Simplified Chinese is required.
