Associate Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create effective case strategies that transcend emotional arguments and achieve outcomes.

• Manage court appearances, depositions, motion practice, and trials independently.

• Oversee discovery, depositions, motion practice, case strategy, client communication, mediation, and trial prep.

• Independently handle a complete caseload from discovery to trial.

• Collaborate with attorneys and staff across varying levels of experience.

• Ensure consistent and professional communication with clients.

• Establish and maintain relationships with current and potential clients.

• Mentor and offer guidance to junior attorneys.

• Work closely with seasoned trial attorneys, fostering greater independence and judgment.

• Engage in team meetings, monthly Friday gatherings, social events, and collaborative efforts across cases and attorneys.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Active bar license in California.

• 1–8 years of substantial litigation experience, encompassing case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation.

• Capability to independently manage a full caseload from discovery to trial.

• Previous experience in insurance defense is preferred.

• Familiarity with litigation timekeeping and billing systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Self-driven with robust critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Professional appearance and demeanor.

• Preferred 3+ years of litigation experience, particularly in managing an active caseload.

• Relevant backgrounds may include civil litigation, plaintiff work, criminal litigation, construction, professional liability, or similar fields.

• Possess grit, curiosity, follow-through, strong communication, and initiative.

• Willingness to take ownership, ask questions, accept feedback, and pursue continuous learning.
