Freelance Subtitling Linguist, Urdu-to-English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Produce subtitle files by conforming, translating, or proofreading/QC'ing, utilizing Pixelogic and/or proprietary cloud-based subtitling software from clients.

• Utilize the in-house glossary tool to ensure consistency and adhere to client style guidelines.

• Address file rejections and implement necessary corrections.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and adjust to evolving client needs.

• Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive materials.

• Collaborate with the language services team on comprehensive localization initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in English.

• Advanced or native proficiency in Urdu.

• At least 2 years of professional experience in Urdu-to-English subtitling translation and/or proofreading/QC.

• Experience in the film, television, streaming, or other audiovisual sectors.

• Exceptional English writing abilities with a keen focus on accuracy, grammar, punctuation, tone, and natural phrasing.

• Capacity to accurately comprehend and translate Urdu-language audiovisual content into fluent English subtitles.

• Proficient in adhering to client-specific style guides and technical requirements.

• Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines and managing quick turnaround times.

• Familiarity with cloud-based subtitling tools and platforms.
