Fractional General Counsel – FinTech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Offer senior legal leadership internally

• Provide counsel to the Founder/CEO and the leadership team

• Manage relationships with external legal advisors

• Assist in regulatory strategy development

• Counsel on commercial and strategic partnership agreements

• Facilitate technology and supplier contracts

• Advise on intellectual property and data protection issues

• Aid in fundraising efforts and investor due diligence

• Provide guidance on governance and corporate issues

• Assist with cross-border legal obligations

• Create scalable legal processes and documentation

• Identify significant legal risks early and support leadership in making balanced commercial decisions

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive in-house or comparable legal leadership experience in FinTech, financial services, or another highly regulated tech sector

• Qualified to practice law, including state jurisdiction, qualification, and current practicing status where applicable

• Experience advising early-stage or rapidly growing businesses

• Proven track record in leading or significantly negotiating complex commercial, technology, partnership, or financial services agreements

• Familiarity with UK financial services regulations and regulatory perimeter issues

• Relevant experience in payments, trade finance, lending, banking, Web3/blockchain, or cross-border financial services

• Ability to coordinate specialized external counsel and determine when external legal advice is necessary

• Capacity to consistently dedicate around 6–8 hours per week alongside other professional obligations

• Strong legal acumen and commercial judgment
