This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.
• Provide support to a segment of the European portfolio, initially concentrating on the business with the most urgent needs.
• Collaborate with the Finance Director and President to translate strategic and operational priorities into financial results.
• Gain insights into the markets, customers, products, commercial models, and operating processes of the supported businesses.
• Assess performance against the previous year, plans, and forecasts; identify underlying causes and suggest actions to enhance revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, and working capital.
• Outline actions, responsible parties, timelines, and anticipated financial impacts, then monitor progress and actual outcomes.
• Deliver decision-focused insights for weekly reviews, monthly business evaluations, and operational meetings.
• Challenge assumptions, clarify trade-offs, and reinforce accountability.
• Implement value-creation priorities including pricing strategies, procurement, LEAN processes, productivity enhancements, aftermarket growth, working capital management, and commercial effectiveness.
• Set initiative baselines, quantify opportunities, maintain a value-creation pipeline, and confirm realized benefits.
• Develop business cases and scenario analyses for capital expenditures, capacity and footprint considerations, make-or-buy decisions, commercial investments, and strategic initiatives.
• Assist with growth initiatives and the integration of acquisitions.
• Ensure the accuracy of business inputs and operational assumptions for forecasts and the Annual Operating Plan.
• Create driver-based performance views utilizing demand, backlog, pipeline, volume, price, mix, material costs, labor, productivity, service, aftermarket activities, and working capital indicators.
• Keep track of forward-looking risks, opportunities, scenarios, and sensitivities.
• Convert strategic initiatives and operational plans into financial expectations, milestones, and KPIs.
• Coordinate European business contributions for regular reporting and review procedures.
• Clarify performance compared to the previous year, plans, and forecasts, highlighting drivers, risks, opportunities, and necessary actions.
• Ensure operational KPIs align with financial results and are applied consistently.
• Enhance data quality, reporting discipline, and analytical consistency across European businesses.
• Advocate for the adoption of Workday Adaptive, Power BI, the enterprise data warehouse, and relevant source systems.
• Leverage automation and AI-enabled tools to minimize manual tasks and improve analysis.
• Create scalable analyses and tools for ongoing decision-making and performance management.
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a similar finance role.
• Direct collaboration with operational or commercial leaders.
• Proven experience in using financial and operational analysis to influence decisions and enhance business performance.
• Familiarity with forecasting, annual planning, executive performance reporting, and financial modeling in a complex operational setting.
• Strong business acumen linking commercial and operational activities to P&L, cash flow, and working capital outcomes.
• Ability to cultivate trusted relationships, influence without direct authority, constructively challenge, and communicate effectively across countries and cultures.
• Capability to transition between detailed analysis and clear executive-level conclusions, recommendations, and actions.
• Proficient in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and data interpretation.
• Advanced skills in Excel.
• High sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to action and continuous improvement.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, decentralized, and evolving organization.
• Willingness to travel to European business locations as necessary.
• An MBA, CPA, or other relevant advanced qualifications is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or another operations-intensive sector is preferred.
• Background in a multi-entity, global, acquisitive, or private equity-backed environment is preferred.
• Experience working across various European countries and cultures is strongly preferred.
