Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the build seat in prospect workshops from start to finish.

• Set up the environment from the initial intake phase.

• Create workflows in real-time using SensorUp Studio during customer interactions.

• Provide readouts that advance enterprise deals.

• Transform workshop builds into reusable entries for the Solutions Library.

• Minimize the time required to convert raw prospect data into a functional demo environment from several weeks to just days.

• Manage large asset registries and observation loads effectively.

• Develop reference implementations for detect, evaluate, action, and record workflows.

• Report platform gaps identified in the field back to product and engineering with precise roadmap-ready details.

⛳️ Requirements

• Recently shipped production software or data pipelines with hands-on experience.

• Proficient in SQL.

• Working knowledge of Python.

• Experience dealing with complex operational data, including asset hierarchies, sensor and observation records, and irregular exports.

• Background in a customer-facing role such as implementation, solutions engineering, consulting delivery, or forward-deployed work.

• Comfortable creating a solution live with incomplete requirements while an audience observes.

• Ability to articulate technical decisions to a non-technical audience without using jargon.

• Experience in oil and gas, emissions, or related heavy industries (preferred).

• Familiarity with geospatial, IoT, or time-series data (preferred).

• Experience building on configurable or low-code platforms like Palantir Foundry or Retool (preferred).

• Experience in early-stage startups with a focus on end-to-end outcome ownership (preferred).
