Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a targeted document-analysis application utilizing an existing commercial intelligence engine.

• Collaborate directly with customer stakeholders, regulatory experts, and the core engineering team.

• Convert approved comment-processing workflows into application specifications, data structures, and acceptance tests.

• Execute ingestion, normalization, search functionality, categorization, source traceability, analyst review, and export capabilities.

• Integrate interfaces with authorized data sources and government-provided systems; identify access dependencies early on.

• Create a reviewer interface that facilitates corrections, multiple issue mappings, and maintains audit history.

• Assess retrieval, classification, and summary quality using representative records alongside regulatory specialists.

• Evaluate duplicate handling, attachment coverage, reconciliation, high-volume processing, and ensure reproducible exports.

• Implement approved authentication mechanisms, permissions, logging, monitoring, backups, and deployment controls.

• Assist in accessibility validation, security assessments, release management, technical documentation, and incident resolution.

• Coordinate custom application modifications with the core platform team.

• Keep an inventory of both existing and newly developed components.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience (Four (4) years).

• Strong background in software engineering, delivering production applications, and integrating APIs and data pipelines.

• Proficient in a suitable modern application stack.

• Experience in database design.

• Familiarity with automated validation processes.

• Experience in cloud operations.

• Practical experience with retrieval or language-model applications, and evaluation of source-grounded outputs is highly desirable.

• Ability and willingness to sit, bend, reach, stoop, squat, stand, and walk.

• Exceptional customer service skills in both phone and face-to-face interactions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
