This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the design and execution of new functionalities within the primary SaaS product.
• Develop scalable platform capabilities instead of isolated customer customizations.
• Engage with the entire tech stack, encompassing database queries, API endpoints, and UI/UX design.
• Design production-ready integrations and workflows.
• Facilitate technical workshops with stakeholders to outline future solutions.
• Produce high-quality, type-safe, maintainable TypeScript code utilizing React and Next.js.
• Recognize universal customer requirements and convert them into essential product features.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to establish technical direction.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes, testing, and performance evaluation.
• Guide teammates and promote engineering best practices.
• Integrate with key customers, serving as a technical advisor and product scout.
• Travel to customer locations as required, up to 20% of the time.
• 10+ years of professional experience in full-stack or frontend development, particularly in SaaS products or startup settings.
• Proficient coding skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Java, C++, or similar languages.
• Significant experience in Commercial P&C Insurance.
• Familiarity with the underwriting process from submission to quoting.
• Practical experience with the Next.js App Router, including server components, layouts, streaming, and caching.
• Experience with tRPC or similar type-safe API frameworks.
• Ability to implement complex, data-intensive views with Tailwind and component libraries such as shadcn/ui or Mantine.
• A background in UI/UX design or close collaboration with designers is highly desirable.
• Capability to design scalable systems.
• Knowledge of frontend performance, state management, and accessibility.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to operate independently as a consultant/partner to customers.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% to customer sites as necessary.
