This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Revise the current Microsoft Word document to establish a polished and uniform document structure.
• Rectify formatting discrepancies caused by multiple contributors.
• Redefine and uniformly implement document styles.
• Reorganize headings, bullet points, lists, and other structural components.
• Recreate and accurately format the table of contents.
• Enhance the overall layout and consistency of the document.
• Conduct light proofreading for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and typographical errors.
• Evaluate the document from the perspective of the architecture/construction industry.
• Offer suggestions concerning technical readability and document flow.
• Identify sections that may pose challenges for architects, engineers, contractors, or other intended readers to comprehend or navigate.
• Maintain the technical intent and relevant requirements embedded within the document.
• Collaborate closely with the client's project manager to address inquiries and recommendations.
• Proven experience in technical editing or technical writing.
• Proficient in advanced Microsoft Word formatting and document production skills.
• Background in managing large, intricate, and highly structured documents.
• Strong expertise in styles, headings, lists, tables of contents, and document organization in Word.
• Exceptional proofreading abilities, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency.
• Professional experience or knowledge in architecture, construction, engineering, or design documentation.
• Capacity to evaluate readability and document flow for technical audiences.
• Ability to differentiate between formatting/copyediting needs and substantial technical recommendations.
• Keen attention to detail and capability to maintain consistency throughout a document of approximately 200 pages.
• Preferred experience with architectural design guidelines, construction standards, specifications, or similar technical documentation.
• Familiarity with civil engineering and general contracting audiences is preferred.
• Previous work with government, educational, institutional, or other public-sector construction documentation is preferred.
• Familiarity with Georgia construction/design requirements is advantageous.
• Understanding of architecture and construction workflows and terminology.
