Principal Consultant, Cyber Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee extensive security initiatives with members of the Presidio Cybersecurity team.

• Engage in security architecture conversations with clients.

• Identify architectural and hardening vulnerabilities while recommending secure designs and technology fixes.

• Evaluate and create secure client frameworks compliant with PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST 800-171, NERC CIP, CIS, NIST, and industry best practices.

• Formulate strategic, operational, and tactical solutions to address risks and compliance deficiencies.

• Perform security architecture and control evaluations utilizing frameworks such as CIS 18, NIST 800-53, and NIST CSF.

• Work in conjunction with Cybersecurity Architects and other teams to deliver consulting services effectively.

• Achieve project implementation goals regarding timelines and client success metrics.

• Ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

• Uphold the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military or professional experience.

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in IT, security, consulting, or professional services.

• Prior consulting experience is preferred.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

• Capability to work under pressure while remaining composed and professional in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in managing multiple and shifting priorities/tasks.

• Ability to collaborate effectively or work independently.

• Demonstrated enthusiasm for technology, solution development, and self-learning.

• Comfort in leading group presentations or whiteboard sessions.

• Extensive knowledge of AI security, governance, threat modeling, and risk management.

• Expertise in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud security.

• Familiarity with IAM, privileged access management, IDaaS, and directory services.

• Knowledge of firewalls, NAC, IPS/IDS, endpoint security, content filtering, VPN, and SIEM.

• Understanding of Zero Trust principles.

• Experience with Microsoft operating systems, Linux, and containers.

• Proficient in documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio or Lucidchart.

• CISSP certification is mandatory.

• At least one cloud certification is required: CCSP, CCSK, or AWS/Microsoft Azure certification options.

• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell or Python is preferred.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating cybersecurity architectures in regulated settings is preferred.

• Familiarity with security testing and audit tools such as Nessus and NMAP is preferred.

• AI certification, networking/security vendor certification, or TOGAF, ITIL, or SABSA certification is preferred.
